I got a reply almost immediately. I was in History of Magic, and in flew the school owl I had borrowed.
I realised at once that something was wrong. The poor owl was limping. I inspected it quickly and realised that it had a blood wound on its leg.
"Er...Professor?" I put my hand up to grab the ghost/teacher's attention.
"Yes Miss Malloy?" I rolled my eyes mentally. He always got my name wrong.
"This owl is bleeding. Can I take it to Madam Pomfrey?"
"Yes, yes Miss Malone."
I exited the classroom swiftly and, making sure the owl was secure in my arms, sprinted to the hospital wing.

"Another one?" Madam Pomfrey sighed. "Now really Miss Malfoy this is getting ridiculous!" She took the owl carefully from me and waved her hand at me, indicating that I should go. I rushed back to History of Magic and grabbed my bag, before sprinting to Charms.
"Now today we shall be doing.." Professor Flitwick's words drifted from my attention and instead my mind filled with thoughts for another poor owl that had to suffer because of me.

"Millie!" Angel snapped her finger in front of my face. "Class is over!"
My attention snapped back to the classroom.
"Sorry, I was thinking about that poor owl.."
Angel looked sad for a moment. "Yeah, poor thing... who did you send a letter to?"
"Aunt Andromeda."
Angel bit her lip. "Well, I hate to be a killjoy but do think your dad attacked your Aunt? Did you read the letter that came back?"
I thought for a moment.
"No, with everything that happened I forgot."
"Well, when the owl's ready to come out of the hospital wing, tell me. I'm an expert at looking for clues..."
