1 day until the ball...
I groaned and slowly got out of bed. As I was so excited for tomorrow, the day would go so S L O W L Y.

Like, that's literally what always happens.

ANYWAY after a siriusly long shower, I finally convinced myself to step out of the warmth and into the coldness of the bathroom. I shivered and reached for my wand to dry myself. I had already brought my clothes inside so I quickly dressed in my robes and brushed my unruly mane of hair into a side plait and then hurried outside as quick as my feet would carry me.

When I arrived at the Great Hall, the whole Gryffindor table (apart from my friends, George and his best friend Lee Jordan) glared at me. I took my seat next to Angel.

"Hey, could someone tell Why I'm getting death glares?"

"Ummm..." said Angel. "Nothing..."

"Yeah, nothing..." agreed Alicia. "We don't know.."

"Oh come on guys!!" I exclaimed. "I'm not stupid! Tell me!"

Angel looked taken aback. "Umm well Fred kinda told everyone that you kissed him and asked him to cheat on Parkinson.."

"WHAT?!?" I cried. That git!

Katie sighed. "Please don't shout, people are looking! This is why we didn't want to tell you!"

"Oh sorry.." I said sheepishly. "Anyway, what?"

"I know! I knew immediately that it wasn't true cause you weren't a player like him. That doesn't stop him from telling everyone he sees though."

I growled. Free wouldn't get away with this. He had messed with Millicent Marie Malfoy one time too many...

Day of the ball...
Today I found myself to be a whole lot more energetic than the day before. Well, who wouldn't? I may even share my first kiss today... no complaints there.

I knew I had loads of work to do. After jumping on Angel, I headed into the bathroom where Alicia and Katie were already waiting. I could tell that they too were buzzing with enthusiasm.

"Ready?" Katie squealed. I laughed. "Yep!"

"Great! Let's get started! We have a lot of work to do ladies!"
*
After hours of non stop work, we were finally ready for the big day.  Just the final touches to go...

"And.... done!" Alicia applied the finishing touches to my make up. She then steered me to the mirror and I gasped.

There stood a girl I hadn't seen before. Her bleach-blonde hair was slick and shiny, shimmered with gold glitter. Her dress fitted her like a glove. Her make up was perfect, from the sleek cats eye curve of her eyeliner to the carefully applied blusher on her cheeks. Her eyes twinkled with infectious laughter, like she didn't have a care in the world.

I hardly dared to think that girl was me.
*
Before I knew it, I was standing on the first step of the grand staircase that led to the Great Hall. Alicia gave me a gentle nudge.

"There's George.." she whispered. I surveyed the bottom of the spiralling staircase. Sure enough, at the very back, stood George Weasley, looking as handsome as ever.

I took the biggest breath I could muster before carefully stepping down the staircase. I saw George's friend Lee Jordan kick his leg and look at the stairs. George's jaw dropped.

I reached the floor and took his arm. He grinned and I smiled up at him. This was going to be a great night.

*

"So, how are you?" George asked, during an extremely energetic salsa dance.

"I'm ok.." I said. "Katie's still a bit sad because of her dad and all the gossip going on so I kinda feel sad for her. And your stupid brother has been spreading lies, so that definitely doesn't make life much easier. But other than that I'm fine. You?"

"Well, some people have stopped speaking to me since I started dating you. I don't really care, apart from the fact sad isn't very pleased I'm dating Lucius Malfoy's daughter. I keep on telling him that you don't like being a Malfoy but he doesn't seem to want to listen."

"Oh.." I sighed. Lucky me. "Well, who needs them anyways?" I tried to sound breezy, even though I knew my voice would sound quite strained. George noticed this but chose not to comment on the matter.

"I know, right?" He laughed. "I've got you, you've got me. That's all that matters."
*

During a slow dance, George blushed when he looked around and realised some other couples were snogging.

"Is it alright if I-"

I laughed. "Yeah.."

He blushed a deeper rose colour and lent in. I followed his lead and BAM!

A thousand butterflies erupted into my stomach. I felt like I was actually on cloud 9 right now. Just me and George, flying above the stars....
