Phoenix
She might have only kissed me to try and steal my pendent, but we both know that that groan she let out wasn't fake. Underneath her hate and indifference to me she does feel something, even if it is just attraction to my body. I can work with that
As I leave my room and her glass apartment, I shake my head, I don't know I got so angry when she kissed Demon. But I haven't felt that angry in a long time. I shove away the jealously that coils in my stomach. I don't need her to like me, but I do need her to cooperate with me. She's worth millions thanks to the serums injected.
I think about the other human, Demon who I locked in the cupboard and while I'm tempted to just leave him there I know I should get him out.
Knowing him, he'd manage to break open the door open and try to escape. No, he needed to be in a more secure place. I unlock the door and see his eyes zone in on me. He looks cramped with his legs and arms folded up around his body. He doesn't complain and instead just stands up. I feel a rush of hatred for him. This is the person Indigo wants to be around. The person, she is happy to do anything for. I know that if it were me who was in danger she'd cheer on the person holding the gun to my head.
I grab the chain that secures the cuffs between Demons hands and pull him forward. He stumbles and I let him get his legs sorted out. He flicks me a look of pure hatred and I can feel myself returning his look. Not caring now if his legs are ready yet I push him in front of me and give the command, "Walk."
He sets his shoulders, determined to ignore me even if it means pain so I I make it simple for him "You might not care if I hurt you but will you risk Indigo?"
He suddenly whips around and even with his hands bound lunges at me. I side step and watch as he lands on the ground unable to break his fall with his arms. I heave him up thankful for the fact that we are naturally stronger than humans, otherwise there's no way I could do this and drag him down a hallway.
I open a door and while flicking the light on I hurl Demon onto the bed. Not caring whether he's comfortable or not I lock both his hands to the bed post confident it won't break. I don't bother talking to him as I walk away. As I reach the door he yells out "What do you want with us?"
I smirk " I don't want anything to do with you, you're just a bargaining chip I need. Indigo on the other hand... she's got several million dollars of research in her blood. And this would go better if she agrees to work with me."
He snarls out "Leave her alone!"
I smile again "Why? You don't think we could get along?"
Demon replies "She's got a thing against someone from a murdering race."
I walk back to him and arch an eyebrow "Are you sure about that? Because not ten minutes ago I she kissed me. Yes, she kissed me. why do you think it took me so long to pull you out of the cupboard?"
I knew he'd think the worst and I don't correct him. His voice is barely more than a snarl "I swear I will kill you!"
I laugh "Yeah good luck with that."
I turn and leave letting him stew over the pictures I paint for him. I call for Patrick to bring me a quick dinner and then decide that tonight might not be the best night to sleep in my room. I take a bed in one of the guest bedrooms making sure I'm as far away as possible from the room where Demon is.
My dreams are full of the things from earlier that day, I'm chasing Indigo and when I catch her we make out under the trees of the forest. Just as it gets heavy she slides away and laughing runs off again continuing the game of catch. As I run after her I catch sight of Demon in the trees. She meets up with him and they disappear together leaving me to search for her.
I wake with a jolt to find to my surprise my breath fast and my soul windows yellow with anger for Demon taking her away. I groan she's only been with me for a short time and I want her. Lying back down I force my body to relax. Once I fall asleep again I don't wake until late that next morning.
Indigo
I fall asleep at about midnight and wake early my body use to rising with the sun. I'd fallen asleep in the dress I'd been in that night and noting nothing to change into I decide to have a shower. As I wash myself I come to the conclusion that while I seem to have no control of my life I still have the chance to wrestle that control back. There is no way I'm going to let a guy like Phoenix think he can rule over me. I turn the shower off and towel off, dressing back into the dress again.
When I come out I notice that Phoenix is still not here. I turn on my heel and head back into the bathroom to grab my toothbrush that I'm trying to turn into a weapon. I spend the next half hour or so grinding one side of the brush along the thin seam of grout that connects all the tiles of the bathroom together. It is frustratingly slow work but I am determined to escape even if it means I go insane with the slowness of sharpening my toothbrush.
Another hour goes by and even with no natural light that I can go off I instinctively know that it's late morning. It seems my instincts are still a bit of a mystery to me. The air moves as the glass opens up and I quickly toss the toothbrush back into it's holder, landing the shot perfectly.
I really don't want to see Phoenix but I'm worried for Demon, it's not just my life that's in danger now. Dragging my feet I wander back to the main room. I'm not surprised to see Phoenix sitting on the bed. He's holding a tray, which is heaped with fruit, yogurt, muesli, sausages, eggs, bacon, pancakes and a glass of orange juice.
He sets the tray on the table and says, " I thought you might be hungry. I wasn't sure what you wanted so I got you a bit of everything." I don't answer but to my annoyance my stomach does. Phoenix grins and motions to the tray.
As I sit, I silently say to myself I'm eating because I'm hungry not because he told me to. I repeat this mantra in my head while I take a bite of a strawberry and can't stop myself from smiling. Wild strawberries are hard to find and they are often small and slightly sour. These strawberries are large, plump and sweeter than anything I've ever found in the forest.
I quickly eat another before starting on the other foods available. Half of the foods on the tray I've only ever heard about and the other half I've only tried a few times when we've managed to steal them from houses or small shops. Even with my half starved stomach I barely manage to make a dent in the amount of food Phoenix has brought me.
I try to ignore him as I eat. I'm slightly unnerved that he is staring at me but I know that even If I ask he won't stop. I pick at the food long after I'm full to try and prolong me having to acknowledge Phoenix but after half an hour of this Phoenix huffs and says "Well if your not going to talk to me I'll leave you to get dressed while I go and take some food to that boy you know."
I can't stop myself from reacting. Forgetting the food I slam Phoenix down onto the bed he's sitting on and growl out "You let him go right now, you don't need him or want him!"
Phoenix just grins "You only had to ask if you wanted me on your bed, you didn't have to push me down."
I take in how I'm using my entire body to pin him down and shift it slightly when I see his markings start to turn scarlet. I don't realize how strong Phoenix really is. I mean I've seen his muscles but until now it hasn't registered that he might actually use them and not just have them for looks.
Even with my complete weight on top of him he surges to his feet as if I'm weightless and holds me to his chest. I try to kick him but I'm too close to get enough power into my kicks.
He leans in and nuzzles my neck before saying "Get dressed while I give some food to Demon, we'll talk after." he steps back and quickly slips through the glass. I breathe out a shaky breath I need to get out of here and I need to get Demon.
Hey everyone! Hope you're all having a lovely day.
Please don't forget to vote and comment as it makes my day just a bit better as well :)
Anyway cheers!
