Hello!

So wow, long time no update. Yeah, I'm really sorry about that :( So in case you need a recap (I know I needed one) So here it is.

We learn that a device that can disperse chemical agents has been stolen from Phoenix's and Aradonious' company. Phoenix works out that this device is linked to New Horizons or possibly the new Red Mask terrorists and they plan to use it to modify the DNA of Marked People and turn them into hybrids.

Indigo is finally cured but was poisoned by someone wishing her harm. Winter suggests moving her to a safe location to keep her safe. She agrees but doesn't trust him.

Meanwhile, Winter is kidnapped by people wear red masks, which turns out to be Winter and his branch of humans. Indigo discovers they're holding  Pheonix prisoner in order to blackmail her and attacks everyone only keeping Demon conscious so he can help her find out where Phoenix is.

Winter meanwhile has put the hiding place Indigo was taken to into lockdown. He sets up a camera and tortures Phoenix in order to get Indigo to surrender...

Indigo

I stare in horror at the screen as Phoenix screams. Winter brings the whip down on his back. One, two, three. With each lash, Phoenix screams but Winter just smiles and continues.

I let out a frustrated scream and punch the screen. It shatters and the image of Phoenix's face twisted in pain vanishes. I need to get out of here, and hearing him being tortured will do nothing but distract me. But when I find Winter... I'll make sure I pay him back tenfold.

I turn to Demon, markings bright green now flickering with yellow anger. I'd tied him to a chair. I grab him and half lift him off the ground. "How do I get out of here?"

He shakes his head, eyes wide with fear, "You can't. The place is in lockdown."

I give a pointed look at the smashed screen, "I think we both know I can do a lot of things most people can't. Now. How. Do. I. Get. Out. Of. Here."

My markings are slowly turning black and yellow and Demon glances at them, "There's only one way in or out. When the lockdown happened, the door was reinforced. You might be strong but even you can't break through that much metal."

I leave him tied to the chair as I walk to the exit, hoping he's bluffing. But the way we came in is now shut down with metal panels. I rap on them with my knuckles and listen to the vibrations. He's right. Too thick to break through. But Winter wants me out of here. Which means when his team arrives, the doors will be open.

Fifteen minutes is a long time to wait. Especially because I know that Phoenix is being hurt. Demon tries to talk to me, tries to tell me that surrender is the only way and I gag him. He glares at me but I'm done listening to him. Once we were friends but that time has long since past. He's sided with Winter. He's sided with people who want to use me. And I'm sick of being used.

Instead I wait near the door and leave Demon tied up i the main room. When they open the doors, I expect them to rush in, to try and force me to surrender. What I don't expect is the gas they throw in first. I take a breathe and hold it. I've never tried to see how long I can hold my breathe but it's a lot longer than it use to be.

I lie on the ground, face down, arms bent at a strange angle pretending ot be unconcious. A few minutes later the doors are pulled apart and men and women wearing gas masks and tactical gear file in. I can't see them but I track their footsteps as they rush in, fanning out around me.

"She's down!"

"I want four to spread out and find survivors."

"Lock her down before she wakes up. We've got no idea how long this gas will keep her knocked out."

I stay still as footsteps approach me. I can hear their heartbeats race. They're afraid of me. Good. Fear can make people react slow. I give them another second, another moment to get close before I spring up. One glance is all I need to count my opponents.

I'd been hoping more would go look for Demon and the others, but apparently they've learnt not to underestimate me. I grab the gun of the one closest to me and pull, knocking him off balance as I twist to shove the other one that had been about to grab me.

"Shoot her! Shoot her!"

The man I've just disarm becomes my shield as I hold him out in front of me,  as a spray of gunfire rattles the air. He jerks in my arms and for a moment I think I'm accidentally choking him but a quick glance down tells me why. He's wearing a bullet proof vest but not all of his friends are great at aiming. Thee bullets hit the vest, two his his legs and one punctured his neck. He goes limp in my hands and the men who just fired look at the man in horror, jaws going slack as they realised they just killed one of their own.

Bullets. Not stun guns. But cold, hard, bullets. They know how quickly I can heal. Winter must have decided the risk of a bullet actually killing me was low. A stun pulse can make me stumble but even I have trouble fighting when I'm shot through with metal.

I throw aside the man that was killed by his own team and launch myself at another. Bullets might hurt me more but they'll be wary of hitting each other as well.

I use the gun I'd taken to shoot one in the leg, another gets shot in the shoulder. I move through the small space, weaving among them, using their own men and women against them as they try to take me down without killing their own.

Pain blooms in my leg and catches me off guard. I stumble but manage to keep my feet underneath me as I tackle another one. The woman goes down and I roll off her but my leg is burning now. A quick glance tells me I'm lucky. A bullet must have graze me. It leaves me with searing flesh and blood dripping down onto the floor beneath. I can handle a graze. It won't take long to heal either.

I'm knocked off my feet as someone grabs me from behind. I choke, gasping as I claw at the hands and pry them from around my neck. I elbow them in the gut and they scream as I put more force into it than was probably needed. I escape their hold and whirl, kicking out as three others close in. One goes flying into the wall behind us. Another dodges but I punch them in the shoulder and they drop to the ground screaming as my hand breaks their collarbone. The final one dodges back and manages to avoid my reach. I gasp, breathing in and acid coats my tongue. I widen my eyes. Not good.

The gas has almost dispersed but there's still enough around that I'd been holding my breath. And now my lungs are full of it.  Whatever the gas is, it's strong. I shut my mouth and bring my hands up to fight but none of them try to attack. Instead they watch, waiting.

"Surrender Indigo." A woman says, "The gas is strong enough to overcome your metabolism."

I'm hoping she's lying. I'm hoping they don't actually know but are just guessing. But I'm already starting to feel dizzy. I take a step forward. I stumble, groaning as I drop to my knees. One breath and it's made me dizzy. This stuff is strong.

I sway on my knees but they're smart enough to know not to try and come near me yet. Blinking, I try to stop the haze from descending as I say, "Just let Phoenix go."

Someone kicks me from behind and I fall to the ground, eyesight blurry, breathing beginning to slow, mind hazy.

"We can't let him go yet. But don't worry. You'll get to see him soon."

I black out before I can reply.

Hey everyone

So it's not looking good for Indigo but on the plus side, at least she'll get to see Phoenix finally?

Anyway, let me know what you think

Have a lovely day!
