"Oh my God, you're one of those people!"
Evan's eyebrows knit together as he turned away from his homework to look at his roommate.
"What do you mean?"
Jonathan groaned. "It's Halloween and you're here doing homework! I mean, you're not even in a costume or anything!"
"So? In case you've forgotten, I have classes to pass. Now please stop yelling."
"I'm not yelling!" Jonathan whispered quite loudly.
Evan rolled his eyes and couldn't help but smile at how foolish his roommate was. He turned back to his homework when Jonathan walked away with a huff.
A few seconds later, a loud shout erupted in Evan's ears.
He jumped and swung his head around, only to be face-to-face with Jonathan. Too face-to-face.
"What was that for?! You scared the sugar out of me!"
"It's not Halloween unless someone gets scared! Anyways, I'm going to go be fun and beg the other students for candy while you do whatever it is a nerd does."
As soon as Jonathan walked out of their dorm room, Evan turned back to his homework and wiped away tears that were suddenly bursting out of his eyes.
"Stupid Halloween," he murmured to himself. "Stupid homework. Stupid adrenaline. Stupid Jonathan."
