Jonathan practically dove onto Evan's lap and blurted out, "So what are you getting me for Christmas?"

Evan merely glanced down at the foolish male. "Jonathan, it's nowhere near Christmas. For heaven's sake, it's only September 30th."

A snort came from Jonathan as Evan pushed his glasses up.

"Did you just say, 'for heaven's sake'?"

"I did, why?"

The horizontal roommate flipped over so they could properly look at each other.

"Don't you mean, 'for Christ's sake'?"

Evan shook his head as he looked somewhere else. "No, I don't cuss."

Jonathan rolled his eyes. "Oh, so you're a child of God?" His voice got more sarcastic the longer he spoke.

Now it was Evan's turn to roll his eyes, which eventually met Jonathan's once more. "I don't believe in God." Then he pushed the other's head off his lap.

"Jesus Christ, you're an atheist!"

"So why did you bring up Christmas?" Evan asked, sighing again.

"Hey, don't you go changing the subject now. You're an atheist?" He finally sat up and stared at his roommate, awaiting a response.

"Yes. I don't believe that a higher being exists. Is that an issue?"

"Anyways, about Christmas almost being here—"

"I'm not telling you anything. You're going to have to wait."

Jonathan closed his eyes and shook his head. "Wow, and to think I was going to give you your gift early, yet you won't even give me a hint as to what mine is. Such a shame."

The somewhat persuasive words now had Evan intrigued in the conversation.

"W-What are you getting me?"

Jonathan's eyelids flew back open and he got close to Evan, too close for comfort. Their faces were only a few inches apart and a smirk grew on Jonathan's.

"A kiss under the mistletoe, of course."

A sudden buzzing came from Jonathan's pants. He stood up and pulled the phone out of his pocket, answering the incoming call.

I know he's a huge flirt, Evan blushed to himself, but why does he flirt with me so much? There's no way he's interested in me like that — we've only known each other for a month.

"Later, Nerd," Jonathan winked, heading out of their dorm room.
