Lightning flashed. Thunder boomed.

With all the craziness happening outside, Evan could hardly focus on his essay. He constantly got scared by the bright lights and loud noises and jumped in his seat every two seconds. Not to mention the loud ruckus the rain was making.

With a groan, Evan slammed his laptop closed and ran both of his hands through his hair in frustration. He had to work on this essay, but the weather was just too much right now.

"You alright, love?"

The sound of Jonathan's voice was enough to soothe Evan's overloaded senses for a quick second before more lightning flashed and more thunder boomed.

The precious nerd sighed and let his head fall onto the table, resulting in a loud thud. Jonathan frowned at this and walked over to the Asian, kneeling beside his chair.

"What's wrong?"

Evan turned his head to look at his boyfriend, but then closed his eyes, sighing again. "I hate storms."

"Why?"

"I get scared too easily."

Jonathan smiled and stood. "Don't worry, Evan, I'll protect you!"

Before Evan could ask what that meant, Jonathan was already grabbing at him and picking him up bridal style. A yelp came from the Canadian as the American began walking to his bedroom.

"This is super cliché, Jonathan," Evan muttered.

With a small toss, he landed and bounced lightly on the taller's bed. Looking around, Evan realized he had never been in Jonathan's room before.

"You're such a sourpuss, you nerd."

The bedroom light was shut off and then more weight was added to the bed. Evan let out a small, "Oof," when Jonathan stradled his lap. The comforter was thrown over them and now it was really dark.

"Jonathan, what are you doing?" Evan whispered for some reason. "Scratch that, what are we doing? You're not exactly lightweight."

The male above him laughed and flipped them onto their sides. "I just want to cuddle with you, babe. What else is there to do during a storm?"

"I don't believe you, but I'll go with it."

They cuddled under the blanket as sleep took them away. Evan didn't jump in fright once when he was with Jonathan.
