Mrs. Karsten pushed open the front door and stepped in before Evan and Jonathan did. The inside looked new compared to the older appearance of the outside of the house. However, considering it had been built ten years before the Berlin Wall fell, it was no wonder the inside was modernized while the outside still had the communist-days appeal.

"Here we are, Kinder," the old woman smiled. "Ein alt aber schön Haus. I hope you two enjoy your stay. You already have the keys so I'll let you unpack and settle in. Let me know if you need anything else. Tschüss!"

"Auf Wiedersehen!" Evan replied. A shout of shock was the next thing to leave Evan's mouth when Jonathan suddenly picked him up bridal-style. "What are you doing?!"

"I couldn't carry you in the house like this because that would've been rude. So I'm doing it now." Jonathan headed towards the stairs that led to the second floor.

"But we're already inside and you better not drop me!"

"Ye of little faith. Do you really think I'd carry you upstairs if I knew it risked hurting you?"

"Knowing you? Possibly."

"Wow," Jonathan fake scoffed. "I'm hurt."

"Focus on walking!"

The American lightly kicked open the door that was on the end of the hallway, which he had guessed was their room. He was right, so when they went in, he fake body-slammed Evan onto the bed.

"You're so mean," Evan pouted.

"If I was mean, I wouldn't have brought you all the way to Europe to your favorite country. So let me go get our bags because we have a dinner reservation later."

The dinner reservation was at a nearby place called "Flitterwochen Restaurant," which means "Honeymoon Restaurant." Its name definitely suit, Evan decided, when he and his boyfriend walked in. A waitress by the name of Monika showed them to their table, which was near a window in the far back. The table had flowers and lit candles on it, along with a bottle of something that looked like either wine or champagne.

"Wow," Evan said as Jonathan pushed his chair in.

"Do you like it?"

"I love it! You really went all out..."

Jonathan grinned as Monika came back to take their orders. When she left again, the American started filling their glasses with the Riesling wine.

"Cheers, to our first night in Germany." Jonathan raised his glass.

Evan smiled and raised his glass, too. "To our first night in Germany."
