Evan scanned his eyes over the pages of his book, taking in every word, every detail, until his fingers had to flip the page. Then he repeated the process. His Spotify was playing quietly in the background (since Jonathan wasn't there to provide background noise) until it played that one song.

"Oh my goodness," Evan whispered to himself, scrambling to get up and make the volume louder. Then he stood on his bed and began to jam out, singing when the words started.

"Where have all the good men gone, and where are all the gods? Where's the street-wise Hercules to fight the rising odds? Isn't there a white knight upon a fiery steed? Late at night I toss and I turn and I dream of what I need!"

Little did the Asian know, his roommate had returned. Jonathan heard the singing and was surprised at three things: how passionate Evan was singing, what song he was singing to, and that Evan was even singing. Sneaking his way over to the bedroom, he was thankful that the door was cracked at least the tiniest bit. He had a somewhat visual of his nerd.

"I need a hero! I'm holding out for a hero 'til the end of the night! He's gotta be strong, and he's gotta be fast, and he's gotta be fresh from the fight! I need a hero! I'm holding out for a hero 'til the morning light! He's gotta be sure, and it's gotta be soon, and he's gotta be larger than life!"

A genuine smile crept its way onto Jonathan's face. Can this nerd get any nerdier?

As the 'show' continued, Jonathan became more and more captivated by Evan. His heart began to swell at the sight of his roommate.

"Up where the mountains meet the heavens above; out where the lightning splits the sea! I could swear there is someone, somewhere watching me! Through the wind, and the chill, and the rain, and the storm, and the flood! I can feel his approach like a fire in my blood!"

Deciding to split before he was caught, Jonathan smiled to himself as he walked to his own room.

"I can be your hero, you nerd."
