*Sorry not sorry most of my chapters are sad and/or depressing :/ This one should be less sad, though! Enjoy! By the way, it's back to Lyra's point of view! I thought I'd put in Patrick's view that way you knew what was going on :) And shout out to my friend Dallas who helped me with some of this chapter! You're a great Little White Mexican Boy :')

On Wednesday, I got up and got ready for school like any other day. I hadn't had another panic attack since Sunday and I was feeling good. It was going to be a good day, I could feel it. Something about today was going to be good.

Patrick dropped me off at school and I walked to my locker. While collecting my books and waiting for Chloe, I was approached by Bill.

"Hey, Lyra," he smiled. I smiled back.

"Hey!" I said. "Bill, right? Do you need something?"

"Yeah," he said. "Do you think you think you might want to go get dinner or something with me sometime?"

"Yeah, sure," I replied with a small smile. "I'd have to talk to my dad and see when I could go, but I'd like to."

"Great," Bill said. "If I could get your number, I could text you and we could arrange something?"

"Sure," I said. I gave him my number on a post-it note I kept in my locker. Patrick always said I should always keep post-its in my locker, so I did. It made him happy.

"Thanks," he said. "I gotta get to class, but I'll catch you later?" I nodded and he left. I didn't really know much about Bill, but he was the first guy who'd ever asked my out. All I really know about him was that he was a Sophomore and would get his license sometime next fall. He talked about it all the time, and I'd passed him the halls several times.

Chloe arrived shortly after. She apologized and quickly got her books before we walked quickly to Math. The day seemed to go by endlessly. When the last bell of the day rang, I rushed to my locker and Chloe and I waited for Danni and Summer, who met up with us quickly. I decided to bring up this morning and tell them. They were my best friends, after all.

"So, Bill asked me out this morning," I said casually.

"Really? That's great!" Summer said. Danni looked slightly concerned, and so did Chloe.

"I don't know, Lyra," Chloe said. "Nobody really knows much about him that we've seen. And he's kind of a dodgy character."

"I'll just give it try, Chloe," I assured her. "I swear. And we'll go somewhere full of people."

"I'm going," Danni said. "I'll make sure you can't see me, but I can see you."

"If it'll make you happy," I smiled. "I should get going. Gotta find Patrick."

"See you, L!" the girls said in unison as I broke off from the group. I got in Patrick's car when I found it and climbed into the passenger seat.

"How was school?" he asked like he always did.

"It was great," I smiled. "I got asked out this morning."

"Like on a date?" Patrick asked as we pulled out of the school parking lot.

"Yeah," I said. "I told him I'd talk to you about a date and he said that was fine."

"That's great, Ly," Patrick smiled. "How old is this kid?"

"He's a sophomore at our school," I said. "Just a year older than me." Patrick nodded.

"There's a party at Brendon's this Friday, but I wasn't going to go," he said. "If you want to go out with him then, he could take you to the party at 10 and you could stay with us for a while before we came home?"

"I'm sure that'll work," I smiled. "Thank you."

"You're welcome," he replied with a smile.

When we got home, I took my homework upstairs. I sat at the desk playing music while doing homework. My phone pinged loudly, so I set down my pencil and picked it up. There was a text from an unknown number.

? - Hey its bill did you find out when we could go out

Lyra - Yeah. My dad said Friday night would be fine. You'll pick me up at my house whenever we decide and I need to be at his friend's house by 10pm. He's going over with a couple of friends and wants to meet him there. Does that work for you?

Bill - yeah thats fine what about 7

Lyra - 7 works :)

Bill - great see you them ;)

I set my phone aside and went back to my homework. When I'd finished, I put my books back in my bag and found a book to read. I chose Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard. Again. It was one of my favorites. I lay on my bed and read it until Patrick called me  down for dinner. We ate and talked before I got ready for bed. I brushed my teeth and put on my pajamas before crawling into bed with Red Queen and reading until I was tired. Then I set the book aside and went to sleep.

Friday arrived quickly. It was here before I knew it. I had gotten home from school and done my homework, the girls came over and helped me get ready. We decided on my black skinny jeans, black heeled boots, a white crop top, and a black jean jacket vest. They did my hair and makeup for me, which I was okay with. When the doorbell rang at 7 p.m., Patrick answered it and I grabbed my black purse. I walked down the stairs and found Patrick and Bill in the entrance. Patrick smiled at me and kissed my temple when I'd reached him. I went out and got in the car with Bill. His dad was driving since Bill didn't have his license yet.

The date went nicely, and we decided to do it again sometime. He and his dad drove to the address I'd given them and I got out of the car. I waved before walking up the path and entering the house. The music was loud, mostly Panic! songs.

"Well don't you look pretty," some man I didn't recognize said. I said a small thank you before working my way farther into the house, searching for someone I knew.

"You look lost," came a voice I didn't recognize. "Need help?"

"I'll manage," I said. I worked my way past drunk men a found a group of women sitting in the kitchen. One of whom, was Sarah. "Sarah!" I said in relief.

"Hey, kiddo," she smiled. "Come join us. Pull up a chair." I dragged an empty chair to the table and sat next to Sarah. "Ladies, this is Lyra, Patrick Stump's adopted daughter." She smiled at the woman and I waved shyly, smiling a little bit.

"You are simple gorgeous," one woman commented. Many agreed with her. I said thank you and listened to their conversations. Soon, a pair of arms were draped around my shoulders. I looked around to see Brendon standing there.

"Hey, Ly," he smiled. "I see you've met Sarah's friends." He laughed and I nodded. "Come with me, Patrick's been looking for you." I stood up and said goodbye to the women before following Brendon into the crowd. We can off through and open door onto a patio type thing. Patrick was standing there, looking slightly worried. I walked over as quickly as I dared in my heeled boots before wrapping my arms around him.

"I was looking for you," he said, but I knew he was smiling.

"I looked for you, too, but then I dragged in with Sarah and the other women," I laughed. "I wasn't fond of some one the people I met along the way."

"Probably drunk," he laughed. "Let's head home, yeah?" I nodded and we made out way around the house. We stayed outside so we didn't have to walk past any drunk men. We got in the car and drove home. I went straight to bed when we got back. I was exhausted from a long day and just wanted to sleep.
