Daddy's Best Friend

Chapter Two

"So Mr.Dolan how long have you and my dad been working together?" i asked preparing mine and my dads plates.

"Not long actually, just a couple of months." he said after clearing his throat.

"oh cool. So do you work or own another company that's partnering with my dads?" i asked."sorry for all the questions, i'm just trying to figure out my dads company for when I start working." I laughed

"No, no your good. But yes, me and my brother ,Ethan, own a company and we just need new partners to make out business bigger." he informed me. 

I nodded my head and started eating my noodles. My dad came back and sat down in his chair and started eating his lunch. 

They started talking business and all that fun stuff, and I started to blank out. Business stuff is boring and i'm just not as interested in all the stuff my dad is. Not gonna lie i don't want to own the business or help out my dad. I want to be an author.

I've been writing for as long as I can remember. Not trying to figure out which companies i want to work with and which ones i don't.  But my dad doesn't have anyone else to pass on his business to. My mom has a son. He's not my dads, she had him before her and my dad got together. She has him when she was 16 and met my dad when she was 18. His name is Collin, and he obviously doesn't live with us. My dad is not his biggest fan and hes living is Texas with his dad.

I was brought of my thoughts when my dad asked "Speaking of relationships, i haven't heard you talk about Sean for awhile, Leah." 

"oh um, hes been good. Busy with basketball you know the usual." I said taking another bite.

"Why don't you invite him to the party tonight. Gives me a chance to meet the nice young man."my dad said as he threw away mine and his left overs.

"Yeah sure, i'll talk to him about it." i reassured him.

I smiled and looked down but before i did i noticed Mr.Dolan a wedding ring on his left ring finger. 

"Are you bringing your wife?" i asked him gesturing to his ring.

"Uh, i don't know, it's not really her scene." he said with a small, small smile.

I just nodded my head and smiled back. I took out my phone and texted Sean asking if he wanted to come to my dad party. I didn't really expect him to say yes because he hasn't met my dad yet so I don't know if he would like to have a bunch of people around, he tends to get a little sweaty when he's nervous.

He responded almost immediately with "I'de love to. See you tonight." 

I smiled at my phone and my dad said "So i'm guessing hes coming tonight?" i nodded and continued to smile.

Mr.Dolan left about an hour later after more business talk. I didn't listen i just acted like i did so i could look and him without it being creepy.  I can't help it, he's very very attractive.

" Hey dad, i think i'm gonna head home." i told my dad getting up and grabbing my purse. 

"Ok, why don't you go to the mall with your friends and buy a nice dress for tonight. We've got lots of important guests coming." he said as he pulled out his wallet and gave me his credit card.

"Thanks daddy." i said and took his card and put in in my wallet. I gave him a hug and a kiss and walked out to my jeep.

On my way home i called Alli and Brianna and asked if they could go to the mall. They said they could and that they would just meet me at the mall right now. So I made a u-turn and headed to the mall.

When i got there i saw the girls sitting down in the food court. I walked over and we said our hellos and went to find a dress.

We looked in multiple stores and I tried on what felt like hundreds of dresses until I found a red dress that was a low cut v neck cut down to my mid stomach and the back was also a low cute v back and it was long with a slit up the leg. 

It was elegant yet super sexy.
