Chapter 3:Waking from a nightmare

Chapter 3

River's pov

It's been about a month now I don't know if she'll make it. I was about to turn off the machine when she woke up screaming. Lisa was fine I think. I removed the oxygen mask from her face. I was happy she was fine and the surprising thing is it's my birthday.

"Lisa, I was so worried. Are you ok? Why did you scream?", I asked her while hugged her.

She replied,"I'm fine. How long was I out? And I screamed because I had a nightmare."

I said,"well you were out for a month cause of a coma."

She screamed at the top of her lungs,"WHAT!?!?!?!?!?"

Everyone was in the room. That's just grand.

Cyborg said,"What is all the screaming about? And Lisa you up how ya feeling?"

Lisa said,"I'm sorry it's just it didn't feel like I was in a coma is all. I got scared when I found out. And I'm feeling fine thanks Cy."

Lisa's pov

With everyone in the room it felt somewhat crowded. I told everyone about the nightmare I had before I woke up. Robin just stared at me with disbelief.

I said,"Robin, what are you staring at?"

He replied,"You."

Not the answer I was looking for. Definitely not the answer everyone else wanted to hear too. He was looking at my head. I looked up my ears were out, dang now they know all about what I was. I thought,'Nice going Lisa. Now they'll turn you in.' But the opposite happened Starfire was petting me so was Cy and all of them but Robin. He didn't look very happy, he looked furious with me. Andrew was over near River when he put a wall of wind all around Robin to keep him from doing anything stupid. River gladly helped him. She was blushing when he grabbed her hand, her face was almost as red as a tomato. I gave her a wink and she smiled back. The wall fell. Everyone else left.

"Robin", I asked, "Could I talk to you for a minute?"

Cyborg knew what I was up to and told everyone to leave the room and said good luck.

Robin said,"So what did you want to tell me or ask me?"

I hesitated. "Do you know what a neko girl is?"

He replied,"No I don't what are they."

"They're kind of like guardian angels except without the angel part. They are girls who are born with the ears and tail of a cat. Neko is Japanese for cat.", I explained.

He said,"Oh. So they're like familiars just without the contract part. I think I get it.

"But", I continued,"We have to follow every single order given to us. It's complicated. If I was given an order I have to follow it. No questions. No arguing. Just follow orders."

Robin said,"Now that's unfair of them to do thrust that gift upon their children. You didn't do as I said a month ago. So why do you have to?"

"It's complicated let's just leave it at that. And I didn't know you so I couldn't follow your orders."

Robin said,"It's late you should get to bed. You can sleep in here or on the couch if you like. Night Lisa."

"Night Robin." I called back.

Maybe I could trust them. Maybe I could very well trust them with my life. I couldn't think so I went to the living room to lay down and Robin was still up. I didn't pay attention. I passed out on the couch and before I did Robin through a blanket over me. I think I'm falling in love with the leader of the Teen Titans. I let sleep come to me willingly.

Robin's pov

Lisa fell asleep right after I covered her with a blanket. I thought I heard her mumble under her breath thank you. She has been through so much since we met. While I was researching some myths on her. I found one that said neko girls have a tendency to react on instinct. Just like when she stopped herself before she scratch me or through me across the lot with her power of telekinesis. It was so weird how one thing can relate to another. I thought to myself,'What if she's just like all the other ones then I might be in big trouble. But if she's not I think we could possibly. Wait no, that will never be she said so herself. She could never fall for me even though I think I'm falling for her. I just need sleep yeah sleep.' That's exactly what I did. I went to sleep but I passed out on the couch instead of going to my room. It was on the side parallel to her. Sleep eventually took its place in my mind.
