Chapter 19

Lisa pov

I was awake but my brother was passed out. I was worried, yes. Terrified of my big brother, no. I would never fear him or so I thought. It was 12:00 in the morning when Kanin woke up. I was so happy he was still alive.

"Kanin", I started, "Are you ok? Why did you snarl like that earlier?"

"I'm fine. I knew you were scared of me. Well it's just the animal in me I guess. It came out and it wanted to kill..... It wanted to your blood." He said. I was on the brink of tears now. I didn't want Kanin to see so I look down. He let out a soft laugh to try to soften the mood but it didn't help not one bit. He always did it when i was little. I remember the first time he tried it.

Flashback to when I was five

It was so dark and I was so scared. The only person with me was my big brother Kanin. He held me in his arms when I started to cry. I looked down so my big brother wouldn't see me. He laughed softly so it would brighten the mood. I cried harder.

"Ni-ni, I'm scared. I wanna go home." He held me tighter. I looked up at him, he held my face and wiped away my tears.

"It's gonna be alright. We're gonna get home soon very soon. They promised us we would.", He said. They promised he said, and I believed him. And six days after he said that, he was taken away and I never saw him again. They told me was safe but I knew he was dead. I cried myself to sleep for the very first time.

Flashback ends

I fell asleep shortly after I remembered this. I felt someone carry me out but I don't know who it was.

Kanin pov

I saw someone carrying my baby sister. He had tights on and he had a cape and mask not the best combination. But he helped me out of the chair. He saved me and River and Lisa. I took her from his arms and kissed her forehead goodnight. It was the least I could do for her. We all ran out before Slade and the director could find out we were gone. We were all brought to a tower where I lied my sister to sleep in her room. I fell asleep on the floor when I set her down. It was really nice just to be able to lie there. It was night so I fell asleep.
