CHAPTER 3
*ZOE'S POV*
I hurriedly went through the shelves to get away from that useless Trevor, before I totally lost my patience. Murmuring words while scanning the books in the History section. Finally, I found what I was looking for, but it's out of my reach. It was placed higher than me.
"You need help Miss?" A voice asked.
I turned and faced him, with my arm still stretched up. "Uhm, yes please if you don't mind."
He reached for the book and was about to hand it to me, when suddenly. "Not! Haha, I need this too you know I'm gonna give it to someone. Stupid history class." He shrugged and left me hanging.
Who was that arrogant brown haired guy? His similar to Craig, only a little taller. I've never seen him before. I'm totally stressed now, with Trevor with me and another idiot this time.
I kept on searching until I found a similar book, and headed back to our table. To my surprise, Craig's not there.
"You're gonna regret this Trevor. I'll take credits for this project alone." I said to myself.
"Keaton! Keaton! I'm here!" A familiar voice called.
"Shhhh!" The librarian shushed us accompanied by a finger on her lips. I bowed slightly to give apology to her and quickly headed towards Craig.
"What were you thinking? This is the library." I whispered.
"Ooops! Sorry Ma'am, I forgot." He whispered mockingly.
He looked away from me and glanced at his left, smiled and waved his hands. I rolled my eyes towards the direction he's looking. My mouth ajar to what I saw. It was that book snatcher guy from earlier. He was holding the history book that was supposed to be mine.
"Here man." He threw the book to Craig. Then looked at me, "oh, you're the one right on the shelves right? Sorry if I took the book, my friend needs it."
"WE need it." I replied. The stranger just raised his brows and stood beside Craig.
"So, you met huh?" Craig cut off our conversation, and then looked at the book snatcher guy. "Thanks bro."
"So, this is your group mate?" He said while looking at me mischievously.
"Yeah." Craig briefly replied.
"Aren't you going to introduce me to your friend Craig?" Craig just shrugged and gestured his hand, more like saying, do the honor.
"Well, well. I'm Ashton Roosevelt, but you can call me Ash." He extended his hand for a shake and winked at me.
I put my arms at my back, "Nice meeting you, Roosevelt." I said dull.
Just as I turned to be seated, Ashton claimed my seat quickly and began talking to Craig. As if I do not exist. To my dismay, I distant myself away from them and found a perfect spot by the window. The silence and peacefulness is what I needed most in times like this.
After doing a couple of work, I left the library without saying goodbye to the two jerks. I already had my mind at peace, what for to waste it? Ashton Roosevelt, his name sounds familiar though. But why am I not aware of this? Is he a transfer student too? Then why does Mrs. Thompson did not call me for assistance in his first day? She always asked for my help.
I snapped myself to wake up from nonsense thoughts, I still have much more important things to do. My teacher made a big mistake by giving me to Craig for this task. Here I am again filling myself up with negative vibes, maybe I should go home early today.
