Gosh I have been so busy lately. We are finally on The Two Towers. Yay! I think I'm going to put the Legolas emoji after every A/n. 🧝🏻‍♂️

Aragorn put his ear to a rock.
"Their pace has quickened. They must have caught our scent. Hurry!" Aragorn led the way across a small mountain. You and Legolas were keeping good pace with him, but Gimli was falling behind.
"Come on, Gimli!" Legolas shouted.
"Three days and nights pursuit. No food. No rest. And no sign of our quarry, but what bare rock can tell." Gimli panted.

You reached a shallow valley. You saw footprints.
"Orcs have been here." You remarked. Aragorn picked up something.
"Not idly do the leaves of Lorien fall." He said.
"They may yet be alive." Legolas said hopefully.
"Less then a day ahead of us." Aragorn announced.
"Come, Gimli! We're gaining on them!" Legolas shouted.
"I'm waisted on cross-country. We dwarves are natural sprinters. Very dangerous over short distances." He panted.

You arrived at a brow of a hill.
"Rohan. Home of the horse-lords. There's something strange at work here. Some evil gives speed to these creatures. Sets its will against us." Aragorn said. Rohan made you feel uneasy. You didn't know why, it just did. As if something was here that shouldn't be.
"Legolas! What do your Elf-eyes see?" Aragorn asked.
"The Uruks turn northeast. They are taking the hobbits to Isengard!" Legolas said.
"Saruman..." Aragorn whispered.

You looked at Legolas with scared eyes. He ran over to you.
"He thinks they have the ring." You said.
"Yes." He said.
"But, what will happen when he finds out they don't." You whispered. Legolas's eyes grew wide.
"We must hurry." He said to Aragorn.

You were running over a hill. You could see the Uruks figures miles ahead. You were tired, but fear for your friends lives drove you forward.
"Keep breathing. That's the key. Breath." Gimli was telling himself.
"They've ran as if the very whips of their masters were behind them." Legolas said.

You saw men on horses run past. They looked as if they were from Rohan.
"Riders of Rohan... what news from the Mark?" Aragorn said. They turned around and surrounded you.

"What business does an Elf, a Man and a dwarf have in the Riddermark? Speak quickly!" The head rider said. He didn't seem to have noticed you.
"Give me your name horse-master, and I shall giver you mine." Gimli said bravely.
"I would cut off your head, Dwarf... if it stood but a little higher of the ground." The rider threatened.
"You would die before your strike fell!" Legolas said taking out his bow in a split second. All the spears were now pointed at him.

"What is this? A woman?" The head rider said. He had finally seen you. You looked at him defiantly.
"What possibly could three men be doing with a women in these parts?" He asked.
"Why do you care if I'm a woman or not?" You said defiantly. A flare of anger appeared in the eyes of the rider. He stepped forward. He was trying to intimidate you. You stood your ground and smirked. Legolas jumped in front of you.
"If you touch her I will-"
"Legolas," Aragorn hissed. "We mustn't start a fight."

"I am Aragorn son of Arathorn. This is Gimli son of Gloin, Legolas of the Woodland Realm and (Y/n) of Lorien," Aragorn said. "We are friends of Rohan and of Theoden, your king."
"Theoden no longer recognizes friend from foe." The rider took off his helmet.
"Not even his own kin." He motioned for his riders to lower their spears.
"Saruman has poisoned the mind of the king... and claimed lordship over these lands."

"My company are those loyal to Rohan. And for that, we are banished. The White Wizard is cunning. He walks here and there, they say... as an old man hooded and cloaked. And everywhere, his spies slip past our nets."
"We are no spies. We track a party of Uruk-hai westward across the plains. They have taken two of our friends captive." Aragorn said.
"The Uruks are destroyed. We slaughtered them during the night." The rider said.

"But there were two hobbits. Did you see two hobbits with them?" Gimli asked.
"They would be small. Only children to your eyes." Aragorn said.
"We left none alive. We piled the carcasses and burnt them." The rider said grimly. You felt tears form. You stared at the rider. You didn't believe him. There was no way Merry and Pippin were dead.
"Dead?" Gimli asked in disbelief.
"I am sorry." The rider said. You wanted to punch him. How could he have not seen them?

"Hasufel! Arod!" Two horses walked up to you.
"May these horses bear you better fortune then their former masters. Farewell." He put on his helmet and mounted his horse.
"Look for you friends. But do not trust to hope. It has forsaken these lands." He turned to his riders.
"We ride north!" They rode of into the distance.

Aragorn and Legolas mounted the horses. Gimli couldn't ride a horse. He was to ride with either Aragorn or Legolas. You saw a problem though. There were only two horses. You didn't have one. Legolas seemed to notice this too.
"You can ride with me." He said holding out his hand. You took it and mounted the horse. Aragorn helped Gimli onto his horse. And you rode into the direction the Uruks took.

"Who was that?" You asked Legolas.
"Eomer. The nephew of Theoden." He said.
"You don't like him much. Do you?" You asked.
"This is the first time I met him." He responded.
"I hope Merry and Pippin are ok." You whispered.
"I do too." He smiled at you.
