So I've decided to bring this book back. I'm rereading the LOTR series and it seems fitting to finish this book up. I'd also like to thank everyone who read, voted and left a comment on this story. It really helped motivate me to continue this story. The fact that this book has reached 5k reads blows me away. Thank you all very very much.

You and the soldiers arrived at Helms Deep a few days after the woman and children had. Legolas was still not accepting Aragorn's death, neither were you.
You rode into the huge gates and you saw the faces of many children and women search for their husbands and fathers. Sadly, not many would have the joy of seeing their loved ones face today.
"So few. So few of you have returned." Eowyn said. You dismounted your horse and nodded to her solemnly.
"Our people are safe. We have paid for it with many lives." Theoden said with the composure of a proper king. Legolas walked sadly into the hall, you followed him. You shot Gimli a glance telling him silently that he was going to be the one to tell Eowyn.————————————————
You were given your sleeping quarters and soon after was dinner. All throughout the meal you starred at the empty chair that would have been Legolas's. You finished quickly and dismissed yourself.
"Legolas?" You said quietly at the door to his bedroom. Silence. You slowly opened it and walked in.
"I've rarely thought about how common death is. Being an elf, it's rare that someone should leave us." He said his voice cracking. You sat down next to him. You didn't know what to say. You hoped that he'd find comfort in your presence as you find comfort in his."What if we don't make it out." He whispered after some time.
"Legolas-" you started.
"No, (y/n). It won't be fine. There's no guarantee that we'll survive this battle, especially when the odds are against us." He said cutting you off. Again, you stayed silent. He was right. There was no guarantee that you'd make it out.You felt tears slip down your cheek. You looked over at Legolas, he was crying to. Subconsciously you buried your head in his chest and he wrapped his arms around you.
He looked down at you. His eyes sparkling with emotion.
"I love you. I really love you (y/n)." He said.
"I love you to." He put his hand on your cheek. He leaned in and you felt his soft lips against yours. You kissed back. The kiss was soft, but passionate. After a bit he pulled away. You didn't want him to. You wanted the kiss to last forever.
"No matter what happens we'll have each other right?" He said.
"We'll always have each other." You whispered. That night you stayed with Legolas.

You woke up to the sound of a loud commotion outside. The sound of people cheering. You made out some words like 'alive'. You looked over at Legolas he was awake as well.
"Do you hear that or is it just me?" You asked.
"Yes I hear it." He said. He was smiling."Where is the king?" You heard a voice yell from outside. It sounded like Aragorn's. You looked over at Legolas and you could tell by the look on his face that he was thinking the same thing. You excitedly grabbed his hand and you ran out together.
"Aragorn!" You said happily as you ran into his arms.
"(Y/n)!" He chuckled. You stepped away so that Legolas could talk to Aragorn as well.
"You're late." Legolas said. Aragorn raised his eyebrows and you stifled a laugh.
"You look terrible." They grinned at each other then hugged. Legolas handed Aragorn the Evenstar.
"Hannon le." Aragorn smiled softly."A great host you say?" Theoden asked. After all the celebrating of Aragorn's return, you were now discussing the battle.
"All of Isengard is emptied." Aragorn answered.
"How many?"
"Ten thousand strong at least." Aragorn said solemnly. The room grew silent for a moment.
"Ten thousand?" Theoden said in disbelief.
"It is an army bread for a single purpose. To destroy the world of men. They will be here by nightfall." Aragorn said.
"Let them come." Theoden said firmly."Gamling! I want every man and strong lad able to bear arms to be ready for battle by nightfall." Theoden ordered. Gamling nodded and set off at once.
"We will cover the causeway and the gate from above. No army has ever breached the Deeping Wall or set foot inside Hornburg!" Theoden continued.
"This is no rabble of mindless Orcs. These are Uruk-hai. Their armour is thick and their shields broad." Gimli grumbled.
"I have fought many wars, Master Dwarf. I know how to defend my own keep." Theoden said smugly. Gimli looked disgruntled and you placed a hand on his shoulder."They will break upon this fortress like water on rock. Saruman's hordes will pillage and burn. We've seen it before. Crops can be resown, homes rebuilt. Within these walls we will outlast them." Theoden continued. For a king he was extremely ignorant.
"They do not come to destroy Rohan's crops or villages. They come to destroy its people down to the last child." Aragorn pushed.
"What would you have me do? Look at my men. Their courage hangs by a thread. If this is to be our end, then I would have them make such an end as to be worthy of remembrance." Theoden said.
"Send out riders, my lord. You must call for aid." Aragorn said. You agreed with him. If allies didn't come, the chances of making it out alive were very small.
"And who will come? Elves? Dwarves? We are not so lucky in our friends as you. The old alliances are dead." Theoden said. You rolled your eyes.
"Gondor will answer." Aragorn said confidently.
"Gondor?! Where was Gondor when the Westfold fell?! Where was Gondor when our enemies closed in around us?! Where was Gon--? No, my Lord Aragorn we are alone." Theoden turned around and started giving orders. You ran after him.
"My lord, is there anything you'd like me to do?" You asked.
"You? You can go into the caves with the rest of the women and children." He brushed you off.
"No, my lord I can fight. You need all the men you can get." You said.
"You however are not a man." He signalled to a guard. The guard grabbed your arms and started dragging you towards the caves.
