Steve's POV

Everything heals in time.
After that confrontation with Natasha at Stark's Party, I took a month off at S.H.I.E.L.D to unwind. When I found out that Peggy is still alive I went to visit her. It's so nice to see her again but saddened that she's not getting any better. She's still beautiful even though she aged. I'm so proud of what a woman she become. Then I told her about Natasha.

"She reminds me of you Peggy." I whisper softly.
"Don't love her just because it reminds you of me. Love her the way you loved me. --Now tell me... do you really love her?" She whispers.
"Is it possible to love someone in a short period of time?" I ask.
"Love does not depend on time, Steve. Every time we believe ourselves to be in love, we actually are in love." She glares at me.

Before I could response to Peggy she's caughing so bad. I panic and called the nurse then they cut my visit and let me leave so she can rest.

After a month away, I went back to S.H.I.E.L.D. Fury was happy to see me again, and so the others.
I haven't seen Natasha since I got back.
Agent 13 said she's on a mission with Barton and Coulson in Budapest.

Days after their success mission Natasha returned to S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. But I was sent to a different mission with Agent Hill. We haven't crossed our path yet and we haven't seen each other after Stark's Party. I still think about her in every way and my feelings for her never changed.

A month later...
I got back from my mission with Agent 13.
Fury called and want me in his office as soon as possible.
Reaching to the elevator I presses the button.
As the doors open, I went inside. Just before the doors closes there's a familiar female voice shouting outside
"Hold the elevator!" She shouted.
I automatically hold it the moment I heard it.
It was Natasha.
God, I miss that beautiful face.
Our eyes lock then she glances down as she enters the elevator.
"Rogers." She greets.
"Romanoff." I nod.
The doors close and I risk a second peek.
"What floor?" I ask.
"Fifth." She whispers.
I nodded.
Were heading to the same floor. It was pretty awkward actually.

When the door opens I usher her out.
She nod and smile.
I was walking behind her, I guess we were both headed to Fury's office.
She glances back at me.
"Are you following me?" She mutters.
"No.-- Fury ask for me.--too." I murmur.
She roll her eyes as she open the door.

"Good to see both of you." Fury greets as we enter.
I nod in response.
"Both of you.. take a sit." He whispers.
We both seated then Fury started to discuss about our next mission.

Due to our next mission Fury appointed Natasha to be my official team partner.
There's an awkward silence, but she agreed and took it very professionally.

"What's the mission?" She asks.
"There's a rising threat of Hydra across Europe and I want you both to track it down and destroy it." He murmurs.

We were advise to leave tomorrow. So after our meeting Natasha went home and I went straight to the locker room to change my uniform to my ordinary clothes before heading home. Then Sam enters the room.

"Hey man" Sam's greet.
"Hey!"
"What's going on?" He asks.
"It's Natasha." I gasp.
"Not again? ---what about her?"
I shrug my head.
"Fury appointed Natasha to be my official team partner."
"Oh man! --that's pretty awkward. Did Natasha knew?"
I nod in my response.
"Are you okay with that?" He asks.
"I don't know." I mumble.

After our little chitchat I went home straight.
I can't stop thinking about our next mission together.
I really don't know how I feel right now.
I find it hard to work with her again.
Especially when you two used to hook up.
Memories come flashing back.
I can't escape from it.

The next day we arrived on time at the headquarters. Then we climbs inside the quinjet.
We haven't talk much actually, we were like a total strangers. Pretty awkward.

While flying to our first destination I decided to talk to her
"Why so silent?" I whisper. Trying to start a conversation to light up the mood.
"I'm just waiting for you to talk though." She whispers, quietly.
I secretly smile when she reply.
"How are you?" I snap.
"I'm good. You?" She glares.
"Same." I nod.
Then there's silence, floating in the air again.
"Okay... this is awkard." I snap
"Yeah.. so awkward." She mumble.
