After the deal with the Xindi, Enterprise went back to Earth, arriving a little over 10 months after their departure.
The senior crew landed in San Francisco, the people hailing them as heroes.
They were soon welcomed by Admiral Forrest and Ambassador Soval, both of them looking at the small one-month old baby in the Captain's arms.
It was not hard to see that the baby was half Vulcan, the ears and eyebrows quite prominent on the small head.
Maxwell turned to Soval. "You made one hell of a cute baby. When's the wedding?"
Archer smiled. "Soon, I hope."
"My family does wish to see the child. We would have to depart for Vulcan tomorrow." the Vulcan male said, still looking at his child.
The Starfleet officer stepped closer. "You wish to hold him?"
"You bore me a son, I cannot be more happy." the Ambassador said, taking his child in arms.
The small boy immediately recognized him as his father, a familial bond already forming.
Soval reached out with his right hand to the child's pointed ears. "He is perfect."
"Doctor Phlox has already registered his weight and length at birth. The little guy was eight point five six two pounds!"
"It is an average birthweight for a Vulcan child. It means both of you are healthy. Have you already named him?"
Archer smiled. "I named him Velekh, after my First Officer and close confidant. He found it quite an honor."
"Were you aware it means 'one surrounded by freedom'?"
"My officer told me when I told him my intention."
"It is suitable. It fits with both our family names."

"You wish me to come with you to Vulcan?" Hvaid raised an eyebrow.
"Yes. Now I return to Vulcan, my mother will expect me to fulfill my obligation to Koss. But I don't want him. Please, come with me. I choose you, a thousand times over him."
The part Magiran turned his head away. "T'Pol, you do not know me deeply enough."
"At least I know you will be a kind husband and father. I saw you talking to that Triannon woman, I know how you are around Odette. At least you will never be distant from me." the female Vulcan explained. "My new career is not compatible to Koss's, it is with you."
"Very well. But I will take Odette with me."

It had been a while since he'd been in the club for Starfleet officers. But this time, he'd gone in civilian clothing. Archer went straight to the bartender.
"What can I give you to drink?" the man asked.
"Just a scotch, please." the Captain replied.
Then, an old friend of his arrived. "The bar's reserved for regular customers. Galactic heroes have to sit at a table."
"Erika, long time no seen. And congratulations on your promotion."
The Hispanic woman smiled. "Thank you. So, are you interested in reconnecting?"
The blonde cast his gaze to the floor before looking Hernandez straight in the eye. "I'm sorry Erika, but I'm with another."
"She's one hell of a lucky woman then." the fellow Captain said.
