They were in the T'Kareth Sanctuary, now standing in front of a young woman.

"Who are you?" she asked.

"I'm Jonathan Archer." the human replied.

"Captain of the Earth vessel. And you are?"

Soval raised his head. "I am Soval, Jonathan's mate."

"A Vulcan and a human together? I was unaware the High Command approved of such bondings." the woman raised an eyebrow.

"They have no choice but to accept, Jonathan is my telsu."

Then, the brown haired woman turned herself to Jon again. "Captain Archer, you are a long way from your ship."

"I'm to find the person responsible for the explosion at the embassy, my First Officer told me to start here. He... also mentioned a Syrrannite named T'Pau."

"I am T'Pau." the woman said. "But I had nothing to do with the destruction of your embassy."

Archer shook his head. "We don't say that. But he did imply you might have information."

"I can tell that it was none of us who are here."

Then, another Vulcan woman stepped forward. "Where's my daughter?"

Jonathan raised his eyebrow. "Your daughter?"

"Yes, T'Pol."

"Oh." the human realized. "She's back on the Enterprise with her husband."

The woman snorted. "Of course she's with that vile man."

Jon's eyes narrowed.

"T'Les, you came here to open up your mind. It seems like you have not made any process." T'Pau said.

"I cannot accept him, he's got Klingon blood in his veins. He's an illogical creature."

The young woman shook her head. "Delvok, please take her to our healers."

A young man nodded and took T'Les by her arm.

The elder woman struggled, but was not strong enough to release herself from his grip.

Once the two had disappeared from their sight, the brunette turned to them. "How did you come here? To have crossed the Forge by yourselves, with the sand-fire storms this time of year..."

"We met a Syrrannite. He helped us find shelter." Soval told.

"Who was this person?" T'Pau asked.

This time it was Archer who replied to her. "His name was Arev. He was struck down by an electrical charge, he didn't make it."

That was the moment the young woman began to tremble slightly. "He's dead? Are you certain his name was Arev?"

"That's what he told us." the human said

"His true name was Syrran. He was our leader."

"Jonathan, are you all right?" Soval asked, taking his husband's hands in his. He didn't care if it was improper.

The human nodded. "I'm okay. Right before Arev died, he grabbed me. He put his hand on my forehead. I felt something inside my head."

"Do you think he was trying to meld with you?" the brunette asked.

Archer shrugged. "I don't know. But ever since, I haven't been myself."

Then suddenly, his vision became black.
