Kabanata 13

Mabilis ang paglipas ng mga araw. Hindi narin kami masyadong nakakapag-usap ni Ricci dahil sa napaka hectic na schedule namin and yet, nang dahil din sa nangyari. I can't still comprehend in my mind kung totoo ba yung kanyang sinabi. I wasn't expecting that.

Should I consider it as a big deal? Or should I continue my life with him as my best friend? Pero to be honest, I really don't know how to show up my face to him. Feel ko kasi, It's my fault.

These past few days went smooth from classes to weekend activities. But without Ccing, I feel incomplete. Hindi ko na muna yun inintindi at nagpatuloy sa studies. Naging close friends narin kami ni Azrael and I think na it's one of those factors na bakit hindi parin kami nagkakabati ni Ccing ngayon.

"Oh Ina, ba't parang ang lungkot lungkot mo? Smile ka naman diyan." Azrael nudged my elbow so I smiled. Papunta kaming cafeteria ngayon para sa lunch, and I think we're getting way too much attention.

Lahat sila nakatingin sa amin ni Azrael. Especially nung nakapasok na kami sa cafeteria, why? Ricci is here too, looking Azrael straight in the eye.

Umupo nalang ako sa isang lamesa na pang dalawahan lamang, while Azrael ordered our food. I checked my Twitter and saw new tweets. I'm kind of expecting this though pero, mali ba tong ginagawa ko?

   ano na bang nangyayari sa kanila? myghad, kala namin forever na yun. Sources says na sina Ina at Azrael na raw yung nagkakasama ngayon. Noooo :(

  guys, base sa mga sources namin, parang nag away si Ina and Ricci for we-don't-know-what-reason, pero ngayon palagi na ngang nagkakasama si Ina at Azrael. Sad truth guys.

After akong nagbasa ng tweets, I took a quick glance at Ricci. He's definitely looking at me and I smiled. Pero ginulat niya ako because of his reaction, he gave me a cold look and busied himself with his phone.

Nagkibit balikat na lamang ako pero na feel ko na ayaw na niya sa akin. Well what can I do? He made his decision to drift away, to part the two of us. Or maybe end our friendship.

"You look like you're out of this world. Heto oh, kain ka muna." I said thanks to Azrael at kumain na nga. People coming in or going out of the cafeteria ay tumitingin sa amin bago tuluyang pumunta sa paroroonan.

As I am eating, biglang nag vibrate yung phone ko and it signaled a mention from my Twitter. Hmm, ma check nga.

Nilipat ko ang buong atensyon ko kay Ricci ngayon. Is he referring to what he said about his feelings? I seriously need to talk to him. Hindi lang puro patama sa Twitter!

"What's the matter? Di mo ba nagustuhan yung pagkain Ina? I can get you another." Azrael offered.

I shook my head as I finished what I am eating. "No, no. I have something to finish too. I'll see you after class."

He looked puzzled but nung tiningnan ko siya ng matalim, he eventually smiled and nodded tapos lumbas na ng cafeteria.

"Ricci. We need to talk about this." 

Lumingon siya and offered me a seat. Umupo ako roon and stared at him. 

"So, anong pag-uusapan natin? I thought you made it clear for the both of us na hindi mo rin ako gusto?" 

"I know and I'm sorry-" 

"Sorry? Sorry for what, for hurting me? Forget it. People tend to act like they care about me but they don't. Sanay na ako dun, and nililigawan kaba ni Azrael?" 

"Um, yes." Nag smirk siya sa aking sagot and glanced back at his phone. But I can see he's hurting inside. I know him, he's my best friend. 

"I knew it. Well since hindi mo ako pinakinggan, I'll let you be free. Sounds great? You can say yes to him already. Huwag mo nang patagalin kasi baka umasa, and yet hindi mo rin pala sasagutin." Kumunot ang noo ko sa mga sinasabi niya but I definitely agree. 

"Siguro nga. Pero Ccing, can we be friends again? Best friends perhaps?" Pinilit kong ngumiti and when I did that, a tear escaped from my eye. I hate this! 

"Why are you crying? Of course we can! Come here." Lumipat ako katabi niya at pinalis niya yung takas na luha sa aking mga mata. 

I wish we'll be like this forever. Pero hindi eh, hindi talaga.
