Kabanata 23

The days here in Davao are pretty amazing. We got to see some of their tourist attractions kagaya ng Crocodile Park, Japanese Tunnel, Museo Dabawenyo at iba pa. It was pretty cool though, some people recognized us so they asked for pictures. I probably would regret if hindi ako sumama sa trip na ito, because this place is so beautiful. Also, first time ko makapunta sa Davao and my first time is awesome kasi two months kami rito. It's sad nga, kasi last 2 days na namin dito :(((

Today is a Friday and our schedule for today ay pupunta kami sa Ateneo de Davao for an event. I'm not sure kung anong ganap sa school nila pero, our band manager told us na we got invited for the event. 'Tsaka, it's very close sa aming hotel kaya no rush kami ngayon. 

"Girls, ready na ba kayo para mamaya?" Pumasok si Ashton sa kwarto namin. He's our drummer; nakakaaliw nga kasi at first akala ko Ashton Irwin ng 5SOS. I'm a die hard fan kasi. Also, he's the best sa buong campus no wonder he got it. He's curly rin. 

"Of course. San nga pala tayo kakain pagkatapos?" Eto nanaman si Lin, puro pagkain ang iniisip.

"Hindi pa nga tayo nakakasimula, pagkain nanaman iniisip mo. Pero anyways, sabi ni Dash we should try Roxas Night Market. Since nandito naman tayo and malapit lang, we should experience it." Night Market? It sounds pretty cool. 

"Well, okay. Ano bang mga pagkain ang naroon?" Humiga nalang ako sa kama, and opened my Spotify app. Nag usap lang sila tungkol sa isang restaurant, doon raw talaga kami kakain ng dinner. I think street foods lang ang nandoon? I'm not entirely sure though. 

Pinili ko ang isang random playlist sa library ko. It says 'your favorites by ricci :)' oh, so ito pala yung parati niyang sinasabi na ginawa niya raw. It was the day before umalis siya papuntang Australia. Salamat ah, nagbilin ka pala ng mas makakasakit sakin. 

I clicked it and it displays really my favorites. Music ito ng 1D, 5SOS, LANY, The1975 at iba pa. He really knows me well. Nag shuffle ako and pink skies played. This was the song playing before ako bumalik ng Dasmariñas. 

"Ina, are you even listening?" I dismissed my thoughts at tumingin sa kanila. I didn't realized na they've been asking me again and again. 

"I'm sorry, what?" Tumawa silang lahat and here I am parang tanga. 

"Tinatanong ka namin, anong masasabi mo na may gig tayo sa Ateneo mamaya?" 

Huh, eto talaga issue eh. Kung taga La Salle, bakit pupuntang Ateneo na rivals daw. So what if pupuntang Ateneo. It's normal though, like I see no problem there. In the end, all of us would just be normal people saying hello to each other. No matter what school you came from. That's ridiculous if you're going to label someone according to their school. 

"It's okay for me. We should enjoy the event and also the school. No big deal." Nodding, we all prepared our outfit para mamaya. Ang akin ay isang white shirt na may punit sa baba na parang claw scratch, topped with a black leather jacket. Tapos, black shorts and fishnet tapos black ankle boots, yun lang.

When the make up and hair artists came, umupo na kami in front of the vanity and the artists did what they have to. For today, mas heavy yung make up namin kasi the theme is more of goth-ish. 1 pm came and we are ready for the event.

We entered the back part of the school and rehearsed for a bit. Their gym is big too kaya mas ma e-enjoy namin ang pag p-perform mamaya. Hours later, the venue is now packed with students, teachers and staff. We received the cue and went out of the backstage.

"Magandang hapon Ateneo!!!!" Sigaw ko sa mic, receiving loud cheers back. I like this crowd.

"It's an honor for us to be performing in front of you today. Ako nga pala si Czarina Montalbo with our band 90 Degrees Green, and the first song is Heart Out by The1975!!!"

Muling naghiyawan ang mga tao making out hearts hammer with excitement. Kairus started playing the electric guitar and we began singing for the rest of the afternoon.

"Guys, here are your snacks. We really appreciate your presence dito ngayon. Every school sa Manila said na we should get your band kaya yun." The president of their USG sent us our snacks which is pretty expensive for a snack. Starbucks. Diba?

"Wow thanks. We appreciate you din for inviting us, and you didn't have to get us pretty expensive snacks." We agreed and they just laughed about it.

Lumipas na ang ilang oras and we're at the night market ngayon. It's the typical night market, packed with people, namimili ng pagkan whether sitting or standing. Absolutely chatting with their friends. Again, many people recognized us now kasi kadalasan sa mga tao dito at from AdDU.

Nag enjoy kami sa pagkain dito and sat to chill a little bit. Nakakapagod mag banda no. The night is still young when we decided to drive at the restaurant. Sabi nila sa popular buffet restaurant daw kami; Vikings yung name. It's still 6 pm kaya marami-rami narin yung tao pagdating namin.

"This place is indeed very expensive." Komento ko.

"Yeah, pero mura siya if you'll think about all the cuisines you can eat, from different countries." Lindsay said, palibhasa pagkain lang palaging nasa isip.

The place is wonderful 10/10 and also their food. We drank beer pero hindi naman marami. May last show pa kami bukas sa SMX. Safe to say na we can be wasted after the show.

"Ina are you ready umuwi?" Kath asked out of the blue.

"Definitely not. Davao is probably on my to-go places next time." They laughed and agreed to what I said.

"Oo nga, akala ko matagal ang 2 months but it all seems so fast and short. Next week, balik klase nanaman tayo." I frowned at that. We never get a lot of rest so might as well matulog pagkatapos namin dito.

We were all so joyous on this night. Everyone is definitely having such great time. I am too. My phone vibrated and I ignored it. But nag vibrate itong muli kaya I rolled my eyes and opened my phone.

Two text messages from ahia. This better be good.

Ahia:

Huy, di ka pa ba uuwi? We need you now. As in now. Ngayon.
