I saw Ben. I was about to yell at him, but then I remembered that he doesn't know that it's me. I hid my necklace and birthmark that way he wouldn't recognize me. Then, I put on my confused face and started to act.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"My name is Benjamin Wordsworth. I was trying to find my way home, but I seemed to have lost my way. Can you help me?" He asked
I, of course, knew he was lying, but I had to keep up the act. Who knew how long it would be.
"I saw a village a days back that way," and I pointed ahead of me, which is behind him." It looked destroyed though," I said with no emotion. That place has no attachment to me anymore. Not since what Ben did to me.
"What? What do you mean destroyed?" He said clearly showing sorrow.
"It was burned to the ground. Everyone looked like they were dead," I said. I put a look of sympathy on my face, saying that I was sorry for him. However, I was not. He deserves everything he gets.
Then, he started running in the direction I was pointing a few moments ago. I was about to turn away, however, something held me back, and I ran with him. It took all of my energy to not transform, but I kept it up.
He didn't know I was following him. When we got there, he started yelling for his parents. I just squatted near a bush making sure I was hidden, and I watched. Then he broke down and cried. For some unknown reason, my heart went out to him. I wanted to go comfort him, but instead I started walking away. I, unfortunately, stepped on a branch he turned and looked at me.
"Were you there the whole time?" He asked, startled.
"Yea," I said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"Did you follow me?" He asked.
"Yea. I don't know what it's like to loose someone I love, so I wanted to see how you would react," I said with complete curiosity, luckily, he could never read me right.
However, that was true. I don't know how it feels. Both of my parents died when I was born. Ben never really loved me, so there was nothing to loose there. Ash never left me. I am going to see my pack after a few years of being gone.
"Well aren't you lucky," he said with a frustrating tone.
"Yea I guess. I'm gonna go now, bye." I said. I bareky took one step before he spoke.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"I don't know, but I'm happy with what I'm doing. It's nice being alone and traveling. I see a lot of things when I'm out here. Everything is so much more clear now I'm alone," I say with complete wonder in my voice.
"Yea it puts a different perspective on life doesn't it. I recently did something really stupid. I don't even know why I did it. It's like I was spelled to say it or something. I hurt the person I love most. Now she's out there loving someone else, and I'm here wondering why I said them. None of it was true, but I knew she would pick him either way. I don't even know why I stayed honestly. I mean me and the other guy got along nicely, but we knew it wouldn't last. I knew she wanted to pick him, but I was selfish and I stayed. I should have stayed here and died like the rest of my family," he said with honesty in everything he said.
