I watch with a smile as Grayson lifts Micheal in the air towards the basket with the stars above us illuminating the driveway.
"Now dunk!" He instructs.
Mike puts the ball through the basket and giggles. Grayson spins around and hollers. "That's my boy!"
Grayson sets Mike down, grabs the ball, and steps a few yard away from the basket.
"Wanna see daddy dunk?"
Mike nods and grins.
Grayson smiles and runs up to the basket. He jumps and slings the basketball through the net, hanging onto the rim, then dropping down. Mike claps and Grayson sits next to him.
"Do you like basketball, bud?"
Mike nods.
"Do you wanna play basketball like daddy when you're older?"
Mike nods.
"Well, when you start preschool in a few weeks, I'll see if your school has a program for you little guys to play. Alright?"
Mike nods.
"Are you tired?"
Mike nods.
"Could you please talk?"
"Yes Daddy."
"Thank you!" Grayson picks Mike up and walks into the living room.
I follow and sit next to them on the couch. Grayson sets Mike on his lap and scrolls through the channels on the television.
"Oh gosh, they're showing a rerun of the 2015 championship." Grayson chuckles and plays the game. "That's daddy when he was young. He's oldddd now!"
Mike giggles and watches intently. I rest my head on Grayson's chest and he wraps his arm around me. All three of us cheer whenever Grayson scores.
When Grayson switches the channel to one of Mike's cartoons, I close my eyes and smile. I have an amazing kid with the boy I love. I couldn't ask for anything more.
