Charlotte blabs on and on as we walk up and down the crowded dirt roads of the festival. We decide to stand by a food stand as we watch the sunset.

She lets out a small laugh and points to something behind me. I turn around and see a tall boy in a grey shirt and tight, dark jeans staring at me. He gives a small smile then looks away.

"Weirdo." I say, but know it's not true. That guy isn't a weirdo, but a... handsome-o? Doesn't matter. But he's a handsome-o for sure... with that slicked back hazel hair, those ocean blue eyes that glitter in the moonlight, and that dorky ass smile. His neck is so large, I'm tempted to wrap my arms around it and kiss him.

I snap out of my thoughts and continue to listen to Charlotte's lecture on how important math is and why younger people of this world should appreciate it more.

Every once in awhile, I snap my head back to see the boy. He always catches my eye and gives that smile, then turns away.

Before he can look away, I send him a wink. I see his tan skin turn a slight hint of red on his cheeks, and release a small giggle.

"What are you laughing about?" Charlotte asks, then sees me looking at the guy.

"Ohh, you like him." She teases.

"I do not." I mutter, turning my head away from him, starting to braid a small tot of my hair.

"You always braid your hair when you're lying." She takes a sip of her beer can. "I'll introduce you to him."

I drop my hair and grab her wrist, firmly, before she can move. "Don't!" I say. "You know how bad I am at talking to guys."

"Which is why you don't have a boyfriend. But I'll get you one right here, right now." Charlotte releases her wrist from my grasp and walks on over to him.

"No!" I cry out, but too late. She's already holding his forearm and walking towards me.

"Now talk." Charlotte lets go of the boy, then walks away into the crowd.

I sigh. "I'm so sorry about her. She's... special, in her own little way."

The boy chuckles. Gosh, I could listen to that for the rest of my life. "It's fine. I couldn't even muster up the nerves to come over here and talk to you, so I guess she helped me out on that."

I give a small smile and look up at the moon. Since the boy is so tall, I can see him looking up as well.

"Beautiful, isn't it?" He asks quietly, his voice a bit raspy.

"Yeah." I say. We both look back down, connecting eyes for a second. He smiles, but I glance away.

"I'm not okay with riding the Ferris Wheel on my own. Want to join me?" He asks.

"Hmm," I take a peek at the tall Ferris Wheel. I'm not fond of heights, but I have a feeling that I'll feel safe with this boy. "Sure. But first, I need to know your name."

He smiles. "Grayson. What about you?"

"What do you think my name is?"

"Well, you kinda look like a Stacy."

I laugh and shake my head. "It's Nicole."

"Much prettier than Stacy." Grayson smiles then walks over to the line for the Ferris Wheel, myself following.

"Quite a long line." I point out, trying to look over the at least thirty people waiting.

"Not too long," He says. "But it gives me time to ask you questions."
