I bite my lip as I stare at Grayson from across the table. He winks at me, then turns to Dylan.
"Dyl, you're a growing five year old boy. You need to eat your vegetables."
"But they're gross." Dyl complains.
"Your mom does not like them either, but she eats them."
I nod in agreement.
"But daddyyyyy."
"Mommy won't take you to my game tomorrow night if you don't eat."
His eyes widen, then he quickly scarfs down all of the broccoli.
"Don't choke, now." Gray says, grabbing his plate and putting away.
"Let's go to bed, Dyl." I stand up and hold his hand as we walk upstairs, Grayson following us.
Grayson helps him into his pajamas as I make his bed. Once he is dressed, Gray picks him up and sets him in his bed. I tuck him in and kiss his forehead.
"Good night, bud." Gray says.
"Could you guys read to me? Please?"
"Well, mommy and daddy have some plans." I say.
"What plans?"
"Nothing you need to worry about."
"I can read you a short story while mommy sets up our plans." Gray says. "Right, babe?"
"Right, sure." I blow Dylan a kiss then walk into our bedroom.
I dim the lights, set up a few candles, and scatter rose petals around. I switch my clothes out for a robe then peek my head into Dylan's room.
Grayson has one arm wrapped around Dyl and holds a thin book. Dylan is snuggled up next to Gray, listening as he tells the story.
"The end." Grayson finally says, placing the book down.
"Could you stay, daddy?"
"Of co-"
I clear my throat, and Grayson turns to me. "Yes, darling?"
"Come on."
Gray sighs. "Could I stay with him until he falls asleep?"
I roll my eyes and nod. I turn off the lights as I leave the room and crawl under the covers, looking through my phone as I wait for him.
About forty minutes, Grayson walks in, taking off his shirt. "You ready?"
"I was ready an hour ago. I'm not in the mood anymore." I put my phone away and turn my back to him as he climbs in bed.
"Aw, come on, baby girl." He slowly runs his fingers over my waist, tugging at my robe.
"Nope."
Grayson grabs my hips and turns me around, starting to undo my robe. "Just for a few min-"
"Oh my God, Gray, just give it up! It wouldn't work anyway, I think we're just meant to have one kid."
He rolls his eyes. "Fine then."
I get up and change from my robe to just a shirt and shorts. I turn off the lights and get back in bed, where Gray has his bed turned to me.
