The Holiday
25th December
Matty's POV
"Babe, did we get Evie anything for Christmas? I don't want her missing out when we do santa time." I asked Sums as we both stood in the kitchen preparing lunch. It's become our tradition to have a big family lunch on Christmas Day and this year we have four new family members, our gorgeous Beatrix, Georgie, Ashtyn and Evie. I'm happy to see my boys moving on and starting a new life with their new girls.
"Yeah, don't stress honey, I got that last week." she smiled as she cut up the tomatoes for the salad. It's another hot December so we are having a barbeque, just something casual and easy.
"So, who have you got bets on which kid makes the next grandbaby?" she chuckled but the way she was looking at me, she knew I was betting on the kids again. It's just habit these days, a little tradition between the boys and I, well more so Nate and Kaleb but same thing. Kaleb and Katie are excited as they will be expecting two new additions to their family next year, Ebs and Riley already added a little brother for Kaylee, Liam is about six months old. Tyler and Kayla announced last week that through the help of IVF, Jake will be a big brother in six months time, and then there's Cam. He celebrates his twenty sixth birthday today and also the welcoming news that he and Gage's adoption was approved and they will be picking up their daughter in a few short weeks. I'm very proud of my niece and nephews, more so Cameron as he's been always wanting to be a daddy and now he will be, with his husband.
"Well now that Brax had the snip we've put him out of contention, Jace is out and so is Nick. I know that Izzy and Declan are trying for another baby, but my guess it's from either Cade or Aidan it's a tough one to decide though." I chuckled, I still haven't decided which one will breed first. Maybe none will and we'll end up having a baby free year, but I have a feeling there's going to be at least another handful. Who knows and I don't care because I love my big family and if my kids want to have about five kids each, then I'm happy with that. If anyone has a problem with that, then they can suck my hairy balls as I don't give a flying fuck what anyone says, my family, my babies and I love each and everyone of them.
"We should have another baby." Sums said and the bowl I had in my hand fell on the ground, I just looked at her completely stunned, she's got to fucking kidding me.
"Oh baby, you should see your face. I was kidding." she laughed hard, not that I don't love babies but I'm turning sixty one in a couple of weeks. I'm a grandpa, I've had my babies, all six of them.
"That was mean." I pouted and bent down to pick the bowl up, she was just laughing more.
"Grandpa, can we go in the pool?" Jax asked as he ran into the kitchen, everyone must be starting to arrive then. Even my grandbabies are growing up, Lily will be turning nine soon, Jax is nearly eight. Before I know it they'll be having babies and Sums and I will be in a nursing home or maybe even living with one of them, if they'll let us in.
"Yeah, but you know the rules, an adult must be out there." I said as I cut the steaks into smaller pieces, with the growing family we have to feed twenty eight mouths, well twenty seven, my little TrixiBelle is only two months old so she'll be attached to Lexi. And that is just the Taylor's, if you add the Williams and Evans crews as well, there's about fifty give or take a few.
"Fine," he grumbled and then walked away, just like his Dad. Brax then walked in with my little Trix and Maddox hanging off his legs, he's such a Daddy's boy. Maddox is hilarious, he did what Ebs done to Kaleb after his vasectomy and jumped hard on Brax's groin, he was not a happy camper for a few days afterwards. Sums and I took the four older kids for a few days just so he could recover, we had fun though, I love all my grandkids.
