Tiffanys POV
“Was that the last box?” my mum asks as I stand in my old room looking around at the bare walls and the boxes I have piled up in front of my cupboard.
I turn to look at her and nod, she hugs me “I know it’s hard honey but your father got a promotion and that meant we move closer to work..” She pauses as she kisses my forehead
“Everything will work out. You’re good at making friends and so is your sister. We love you heaps so remember that because we’re not moving because we want you both to be miserable or upset it’s just….”
“It’s fine Mum, so stop with the lecture! I’m fine.” She smiles
“See that’s why I love you. You’re also smart” we laugh as she squeezes me tightly to her
“Well hurry up and say good to your old room, old life because you’re about to start a new life in Paxton Springs (made up name)” I nod as she lets me go and walks out.
I slowly walk around my room and touch everything, remembering everything that has happened in this room.
Girls sleep over talking about boys and other useless things, you know just normal girl things!? How I had my first fight with my best friend Amber and also the day we made up when she came over and just ran in to hug me after us not speaking for a week. It killed us but it made us stronger, we never let a boy or another person come between us again and now I was going to leave her behind and all of my other friends! How am I going to live without them?
Amber told me at my going away party that I had to call text or email EVERYDAY so I gave her that promise. I’m going to miss her, she’s been a part of my life for the past 10 years. We grew up together, we loved and hated the same things but now I was leaving. Leaving her behind and moving on, I felt horrible and I couldn’t help but start to cry. I guess my sister Jolene heard my sobs and came in to give me a hug. She stroked my hair and told me, she’d be right beside me all of the way. Jolene is my younger sister by 2 years but she’s also my rock! I can turn to her for support no matter what! She’s even fought with my parents on my behalf and I love her for it. My parents like the fact that we’re so close especially through our teenage life since this is when you really start to hate the younger sibling because they want to hang with you and your friends and do things with you and we just want your own time but not Jolene and I. We still do things together and hang out. My friends adore her which was why the party was for both of us. I loved my friends for it, it made life so much easier and the funny thing. Jolene knows the same secrets I do about my friends but I’m okay with it. She’s more mature than normal 15 year olds.
