Tiffany's POV
I sat down but as far away from him as possible "Yeah I guess. Well what do you want to know?" I asked he sat back and pushed his feet off the ground a little to make the swing move.
I relaxed my feet and let the ground slowly move under my shoes. "So why did you move here to Paxton Springs of all places?"
"My Dad got a promotion and we had to move"
"Oh, so you didn't have a choice but to move?"
"Yeah I guess. I miss my friends so much" I looked down to the ground, why was I telling this guy this?
I had Jo for comfort not the douche bag from across the street but for some reason Amber's words came to mind 'Just be more outgoing Tiff, you'll make new friends and be happy again. Just don't forget me okay!' I smiled at her words, how could I ever forget my best friend Amber, she'd been there through everything. Boyfriends, crushes, heart breaks all the drama a girl goes through while attending high school. I was going to miss her. It was funny because we always seemed to go through the same thing at the same time, it was why we were best friends for so long.
Are you excited about starting school Monday?" I looked at him
"Yeah, it'd be good to be back at school. I sort of miss it" and I did I liked home and studying.
I was the opposite to Jo, I was a good student where she only went to socialize she passed but her grades weren't the best but as long as she was happy so were my parents so it annoyed me sometimes when they put the pressure on me to do well but they never do it do her. Me! I was an A student who liked helping out the student body so when I get to school I'll be looking for school activities or groups to join, plus I didn't mind a bit of sport. I enjoyed being alone sometimes to reflect. I hadn't noticed but Rusty was watching me closely "You like going to school?" he questioned.
I laughed for the first time while talking to him "Yeah, actually I don't mind school. I'm a great student" I look at him and those soft green eyes
"Ah I get it. You're a straight A student right?" I nod and his smiles start to disappear
"Why is that bad or something?"
"No! Just that you're always all caught up with your head in books to realise life is out there and it's yours to enjoy" Wow that was deep coming from him but I guess I really didn't know much about him so I flipped this little 20 question about me and asked
"So Rusty. Been here you're whole life?" he ran his hands though his hair and I couldn't help but watch his every movement
"Yeah. We've been here our whole lives"
"So is there just Gabe and you?" I had to see if there was a poor girl stuck in that house with these 2 boys, maybe I could save her?
"No, just Gabe and I plus my parents" he nodded slightly looking at the ground and then what I asked next surprised both of us
"So do you have a girlfriend?" holy shit did I just ask that and why would I ask that.
I really didn't care, it just came out?! I looked at him "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked, it was wrong of me" I quickly rushed out of my mouth, he smirked getting up off our swing.
He bent down touching both shoulders with his hands and so his face was right in front of mine "No, no girlfriend but there's always a chance that I have someone in mind to fill in that position?" he raised his eye brow over his one eye and I almost giggled. GIGGLED!
Me at a stupid flirt!? What was wrong with me? I think I was being to bold. He slid his finger across my lip so softly before he straightened up and started to walk over to his house. I couldn't say a word back I was panic stricken. My breathing was fast and my heart was beating fast, what the hell is happening to me? I closed my eyes and started to relax 'It's okay Tiff, he was just flirting with you. Just relax' I opened my eyes to see my Dad's car coming up the driveway. I plastered a smile on my face and got up to greet him "Hi Dad" I say as he got out of the car
"Hi Honey" he looks over my shoulder and see's the swing set up
"You know I would have helped?" I smile and nod
"I know but Rusty came over to help" he looks over his shoulder and see's Rusty out the front of his house, he gives him a small wave and Rusty returns it.
I don't know why but I kept my eyes on Rusty, he smirks and then gives me a wave before walking into the house. Jerk! I then turned and walked inside with my Dad.
