Eleanor's POV
I stare at my reflection in the mirror, black pencil skirt that ends just above my knee, with a plain white shirt tucked inside and black pointed heels, it's rather plane and monochrome but my gold necklace adds a little colour, that counts right? I let my straightened hair fall over my shoulders in a side parting, before spraying perfume and grabbing my blazer and bag from my bed, I double check that I have everything that I will need in my bag before grabbing my car keys and heading downstairs.
I lock the front door behind me and get into my car, starting the engine and pulling out of the driveway, I drive down to the main high street and despite it being quite early morning, there are a lot of people walking around and a few shops are just opening, I park and get out, heading towards a coffee shop that I spotted when I was shopping yesterday. The queue is long but I'm not worried, I left the house with enough time to eat breakfast before heading to my new workplace. I wait for five minutes in line before I order a latte and two cookies, I sit down at a table by the window as I eat, watching people walk past, some in a rush and some just strolling.
Fifteen minutes later and I am back in my car and driving towards my new workplace, following the map provided on my phone, I enter the car park after talking to the guard who kindly let me in, I park in an empty space that I find and step out, locking the car and checking my reflection in the darkened window o the car next to mine, I'm ready.
I take the elevator up to the ground floor, and introduce myself to the kind woman who greets me, she types my name into her computer before pointing me back into the direction of the elevator and telling me to go up to the top floor of the tall building, the twentieth. The doors slide open and I step out into what looks like a living room, a long white corner sofa and a small glass coffee table with some magazines on related to businesses and a large black TV is mounted on the wall. There are two closed doors on the right, next the sofa, I turn to my left to see a woman around my age sitting behind a smaller version of the desk down on the ground floor, I walk towards it and see that there is a hallway leading down, this floor is 'L' shaped, the living room as soon as you walk in and then the long hallway to the left, where there are two closed doors, side by side.
'Good morning, the woman greets me, you must be Eleanor Bradley, am I correct?' she asks, standing up and walking around the desk to shake my hand, I nod and shake her hand as she introduces herself 'My name is Allison Johnson, I am Mr Andrews' secretary, you will be his personal assistant'
'He needs two?' I ask, she nods enthusiastically.
'My job is out here, I deal with the visitors Mr Andrews' gets, I make them feel welcome as they wait for an appointment and I deliver the paper work around the company building and make phone calls around the company building' she explains, I nod slowly.
'So what's my job then?' I ask, she walks through the living room towards the two closed doors next to the sofa, I follow behind her.
She opens one of the doors to reveal a bathroom, 'This is my bathroom and the bathroom that any visitors may use' she says before closing the door and opening the second door to reveal a rectangular kitchen 'This is where I make coffee and prepare any meals for myself or Mr Andrews, I am the one who brings his coffee and food when he requests' she closes the door again and walk back towards the desk, turning into the hallway, before stopping in front of one of the doors 'This is the door to Mr Andrews' office, he is currently inside with a visitor but he will request to se you once he is finished, exactly beside it is the door to your office'
She opens the door for me and we both step inside, one wall is made up entirely of shelving with books and file holders, in front of it, facing the door is a large white desk with an iMac and white desk writing pad and pot of pens and black telephone. I walk around the desk and sit down on the large black comfortable chair, placing my bag on the floor by my feet and curiously opening the drawers in the desk to find note books and stationary. In one corner is a smaller white desk with a printer on top.
