Eleanor's POV
I look around my bedroom as I zip up my cabin size suitcase, it's been a couple of weeks and Mr Andrews and I are going on a two day business trip, we're going to my childhood town, where I came from before I moved here, so I'm hoping that I'll have some free time so that I can go and visit my parents, phone calls just aren't the same as seeing them in person.
I put on my jacket making sure that my phone and wallet was inside, he's going to drive us there. I carry my suitcase down the stairs, sitting at the kitchen island I eat a croissant and finish off the tea that I had made earlier, I wash the dishes and slip a couple of cereal bars into my coat pocket in case I get hungry on the drive there.
Not long after, I hear a knock at my door, I race over and open it to see Mr Andrews standing there 'Come on' he states, turning around and walking back towards his Range Rover that's parked on the side of the road, I roll my eyes and pick up my suitcase, with one final check in my pockets, I close the front door and lock it before hurrying down to his car. I open the boot and put the suitcase inside before closing the boot, I walk around to the passenger seat and slide in, he watches me from his place in the driver's seat, 'Ready?'
'Yes' I nod, he starts the engine and pulls away. I wiggle into a more comfortable position and put my seatbelt on, this is going to be a long drive and I'm not sure if I can handle an awkward silence, what would he say if I turned the radio on? Would he be annoyed? Biting my lip, I glance at him but his eyes are on the road, reaching out slowly I press the button for the radio, not once taking my eyes of him, I change the channels a few times until I find a song that I like, he doesn't say anything and he doesn't even look at me, well that was easier than I thought it would be.
---
We have finally arrived at an expensive hotel after a long drive with no breaks, I'm waiting by the elevator with my suitcase whilst I wait for Mr Andrews to check us in at the front desk, he only has a duffle bag slung over his shoulder. I hum quietly as I wait, I have already eaten my cereal bars in the car, Mr Andrews made it very clear that if I dropped a single crumb in his car then he would make me walk the rest of the way, and I didn't doubt for a second that he would actually do it.
'Seventh floor' his low voice interrupts my humming, making me jump, I look at him in confusion before realising that he wanted me to call the elevator and that the rooms were on the seventh floor. The elevator doesn't take long to arrive and once we are inside I press the number seven and watch it illuminate, the doors close and the elevator starts moving, 'Here, this is your key' he tells me, handing me a silver key with a brown keyring attached to it with the number '25' on it, I thank him.
It doesn't take long to reach our floor, a ding sound is heard and the doors open, allowing us to step out. I follow him down the hallway before we stop, he opens the door with his own key and I look around at the other doors, which one is number 25?
'Are you coming in or not?' his voice calls from inside the room, I frown and turn to look at him as he stands in the short hallway.
'But I need to find my room' I tell him, he just stares at me.
Still confused, I look at the number written on the door '25' I look back at him in shock, 'We're in the same room?'
'What made you think you would be getting your own room?' he replies as I reluctantly step inside, looking around nervously at the simple yet expensive decor.
'But... you gave me my own key' I say, dangling it at arms length towards him.
'Yes, that's the spare key to our room' he shrugs a shoulder, 'Now close the door'
After a few seconds I close the door and walk further inside, the first door on the right is a large bathroom, on the left are double doors that open up to a wardrobe and storage area, I walk past them and into a living room, there's a TV mounted on the wall and a grey corner sofa with matching grey rug and a white coffee table, it's really nice. I push open a door that's half open and step inside to find Mr Andrews sitting on the edge of a kingsize bed, undoing his tie, we're sharing a bed too?
'You're kidding me' I mumble, he only smirks as he rummages through his duffle bag. Something tells me he's not going to sleep on the sofa and leave me in the bed, and although the sofa looks very nice, I don't imagine it would be comfortable enough to sleep on. I mentally groan.
---
I go into the bathroom, making sure to lock it as I change into my pyjamas: black drawstring shorts and a plain white t shirt with the front tucked in a little. I throw my hair up into a messy bun and remove the make-up from my face. I unlock the bathroom and step out, almost running back inside when I see him sitting in bed with his back leaning against the headboard, the duvet covering his legs but still allowing me to see the waistband of his boxers.
He looks up at me and raises an eyebrow 'I thought you were one of those women who sleep in lace underwear with their hair in rollers and a facemask on'
I try and bite back a smirk as I walk closer to the bed 'Is that why you wanted to share a bed?'
We both laid down, him taking up more space than me as I tried to stay on my side, we laid on our backs, staring up at the ceiling.
'You should feel grateful that I am sharing a bed with you, I have never slept beside a woman before' he suddenly speaks.
I almost choke on my spit, 'You're a virgin?'
He looks over at me, 'You sound surprised, just because I am good looking and wealthy it does not mean that I will have sex with anyone, I'm waiting for the right girl'
I yawn and roll over so that my back is to him and close my eyes, 'Well good luck to her, you're high maintenance'
After a couple of minutes I begin to drift off to sleep, but not before his low voice whispers 'You have no idea how high maintenance, good luck to you'
If I wasn't already half asleep I would have questioned what he meant by good luck to me.
