millie's pov:

i got into sadie's car, as she continued to rush me to close the door.

we were already half an hour late to the party, as she didn't agree with what outfit i picked out.

apparently, it was too slutty, and if i wore that skirt i wouldn't be able to move.

the car ride consisted of her talking, and me panicking on the inside as i pretended to understand what she said.

i've been to a party before, but good stuff never happens at anything like this.

it's always shit and i'm calling it now.

the last time i was at a real party, was the bonfire months ago.

the only reason i was coming to this was because of finn, i just want us to be okay for the short time we were before.

so this time, just this once, i was hoping everything would go as planned.

we pulled into a driveway, running over a plastic cup.

a few people were smoking on the lawn, a bunch of them drinking, and a couple more throwing up in the bushes.

we enter the big house, surprised by the greeting i got.

"hey! you don't know me but i invited you to this party," a cute looking boy said, who i didn't know.

sadie rolled her eyes and whispered, "don't you dare fuck around with him, he's bad news," into my ear.

i looked at her a little confused, as he seemed harmless, not drunk, and good looking.

she walked off into the chaotic crowd, leaving me with him.

"well i actually didn't invite you, finn did. nice meeting you millie, i'm jacob," adding a smile at the end.

but finn didn't invite me, sadie did?

skipping over how he already somehow knew my name, i nodded adding my best fake smile.

i perfected it months ago.

"nice, uh do you know where finn would be?" i asked, i wasn't in the mood to flirt with him.

his face got dull, but he responded.

"either drinking, getting high, or off with some random ass girl."

i was confused at this point whether this boy was his friend or not with how he presented him.

"chill with me, come on," jacob said and grabbed my arm leading me into the crowd.

i flinched a little at the sudden interaction, but he didn't realize it so it was fine.
