Letter 07
Dear Hide,
I'm at a drag queen show at the moment, and it's actually a really fun place. A friend of mine brought me here and it's full of colorful characters.
You'd have a blast here...
You loved drag, and you had the shiniest crown out of all the queens to ever live on this earth. You definitely deserve to be here, to be running, to win.
I miss you, and this show really only makes me remember you more...
It's about to start, but, I promise I'll send you another letter before I go to bed.
Please read these...
Chapter 07-
I stood in the female changing room, Adrien holding onto my arm as he nervously recited his dialogue. I gave him a small smile, and spoke..
"Don't worry," I paused, "You'll do great out there and I know it."
Adrien looked like he didn't know what to say. Dumbfounded, to say the least...
"Thank you," His words were dry and raspy, but his smile was bright. His confidence seemed to soar after that, as he was walking around the changing room with all his friends jumping and playing around.
"Sherri Avery!"
After a few names, Adriens name was called. He took a deep breath, before looking over at me and smiling. "I guess there's no turning back now,"
I smiled, as we both walked out of the changing room and into the gym. The bleachers were covered by people, who were cheering and screaming for the queens.
Guys along the sides held up signs with the names of their favorite queens, three I immediately saw were for Adrien.
He waved out to the crowd with his free hand and placed a small kiss on my cheek before taking his seat.
I walked over to the bleachers where the other escorts were and sat down beside them. They talked to me a little, saying that Adrien hasn't stopped talking about me being his escort.
"He was so nervous to ask you," One of the boys said, giving me a small smile before turning to Adrien.
"We think he's into you,"
I rolled my eyes, "I don't really think so, besides," I paused, taking a deep breath and looking at Adrien.
"I'm not into guys, personally.."
The guys smiled, before going back to cheering for the other queens that walked out onto the scratched gym floor.
The night seemed to go by quickly, the queens made the night feel like it was a nonstop sitcom. Everyone was laughing so hard some people almost fell out of their chairs, my stomach was hurting so much by the end of the show because of laughter.
"We'll take five minutes to decide our winner, please take this time to enjoy some of or snacks for sale."
Adrien got up from his seat as the whole audience got up to congratulate their queens.
He ran over to me and smiled, "How did I do..?" I could see that Adrien was shaking, his smile couldn't cover up all the signs of his anxiety in the moment.
