Letter 05

Dear Hide,

I'm walking to lunch right now, Maya asked me to meet her. She said she had some information about your disappearance.

I refuse to say what happened...I chose to call it a disappearance because I want to believe your still there. I want to believe one day I'll see you again and be able to hold you again.

Our presentation for science class is going well..The teacher asked me if I wanted another partner, and I turned down the offer. I'll gladly stick to our plan. Although, I couldn't get any real work done in class today.

I missed you too much.

All I got was this drawing of your name, which I tried so hard to say, yet couldn't quite get it off my tongue. All I got was Him.

I remembered you telling me that if it was too hard to say, write it out..

If you do ever get to see that image, I'm not artist, but I do hope it reminds you how much I miss you. If you are out there reading these, I hope it brings you home.

To me..

Chapter 05-

I walked down the hallway and slid into the library. I forgot my lunchbox at home, still in the fridge where I left it the day before...

The library was quiet, walls were covered by books, and motivational quotes lined the walkway in. There was a station to rent an iPad, an iMac, and to rent some headphones. The few people who were in here for lunch, took their time sorting out books and laughing quietly in the corner.

Those were the "nerdy" kids, who gave me a small smile and waved to me as I walked in. I returned a smile and a wave, before seeing Maya slip into a dark, opened room.

I followed her in, and felt for the lights along the wall. When they flickered on, I saw the whole group of people Hide used to hang out with sitting at a table with manilla folders spread out.

"Uh.."

Maya smiled, "Don't be afraid, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the information we have.." Maya smirked, looking back at the manilla folders. She motioned me to a chair and sat right across from it.

I took my seat and leaned back.

One of the boys, Trey, opened the manilla folders on top. Inside was a photo copy of the suicide note, and a copy of Hide's English homework.

Trey pointed to one of the A's in the suicide note. "Take a look, my dear friend.." He said to me, with a calm, yet shaky voice.

"Yeah, it's an A..What about it?"

Trey smiled, "Take a look at Hide's homework,"

I glanced over to the homework and scanned it for an A. When I came across one, I stared at it intensely.

The A on his homework looked like an A that would appear on a text message. With a little hook at the top of it. In the suicide note, the A had no hook.

My eyes widened.

"It.." I was speechless. The A was not Hide's A!

Trey nodded, taking his fingers away from the A and pointing to the I on the page. The lowercase I had a dot above it, immediately, I had realized that the I on Hide's homework had no dot above it.

The last letter Trey showed me was the way Hide wrote my name. The E was sharp and had jagged edges. When I looked to the homework, the uppercase E that was printed at the beginning of a sentence was curved.
