Besides Yagi Tomoya, there was someone else who stayed by Nezu Chuukichi's side at every step in their lives.

"Chuukichi, can you tutor me again?"

"You're such a pain sometimes, Y/n."

"I'm begging you!"

L/n Y/n was really close to Chuukichi and his family. She's even well-acquainted with perv-Tomoya.

"Fine. But this will be the last time."

"Promise! Cross my heart! Swallow a thousand needles! And hope to die!"

"Shh! Keep it down."

She isn't exactly the brightest bulb in the room...but, she isn't the dimmest either.

Y/n often comes to his house to help with the chores. Also, Chuukichi's little sister gets to play with her a lot. This happened a lot now, especially for the past year.

Come to think of it, Chuukichi once wondered why she loved coming over to his place. He understands Tomoya's case of being lonely, but he doesn't understand Y/n. Whenever he asked her, she always changed the topic. Heck, even Tomoya doesn't know. Nobody's really sure as to where she lives.

Y/n is also in the advanced class. She's smart but lazy. It's a mystery how she got into the advanced class. Plus, she's also pretty..to the degree of trying to reach Chuukichi's standards.

Nobody knows why, but Y/n seems very trustworthy albeit she has many excuses and tricks up her sleeve.
The (h/c) girl has a history of lying and most people seem to believe her. Nezu Chuukichi is the only person who can see through all those lies. Maybe that's why Y/n is so attracted to him.

"Nobody can ever tell if I'm lying or not. Only Chuukichi knows. Besides, I can only promise him that I'd 'swallow a thousand needles' if I break my pinky promise..."

Even at this age, the two still make pinky swears. (※ pinky promise or pinky swear it's the same thing)

"Don't lie to me, Y/n."

"Sorry, Chuukichi..."

She couldn't exactly remember what happened on that day. It was blurry.

"From now on, I pinky swear that I won't keep any secrets from you and I'll always tell the truth."

"Whoever breaks the promise must swallow a thousand needles. Cross our hearts, hope to die."

That promise was made when they were still in middle school. It's been 2 years since.

Wandering around the halls of her school, she suddenly ends up at...a Daycare Room?

"Is this the place were Tomoya nosebleeds all the time? He even calls it his paradise. What an idiot..."

Her hand reaches to open the door, but then one of the kids inside cries aloud. "I probably shouldn't interrupt them. It's their business, not mine." Her hand pulls away at the last second.

Before stepping away, however, the door slides open to reveal a familiar face. The kid stopped crying then.

'Crap. Everyone's staring at me.'

"Y/n. What are you doing here?"

"I just happened to be passing by..."

"This is L/n Y/n. She's also in the advanced class same as me."
And just like that, Chuukichi introduced her to everyone.

A lot of people say that Chuukichi is so calm and he always keeps his cool. If not, how would he support his family if he isn't calm and composed?

"Y/n. Do you remember the one you promised me in middle school?"

"Yeah, I do. But I can't believe you still remember..."

That memory was as clear as day. It's her only remaining nightmare.

"Then don't keep secrets from me anymore. Just tell me."

"Tell you what?"

"You know what I mean!"

It's too complicated. She never told anyone, not even her most trusted best friend.

"Please, Y/n..."

Just there, tears slowly escaped her (eye/colour) eyes.

The wind blew strong, muting the noise of her sobbing. Whilst on the swings, she let her tears roll free to drop to the ground. Chuukichi, beside her, doesn't have a clue on how to react. He's never seen her cry before.

"You won't understand..."

For all the times that the two spent together through the years, this was a new thing.

"Hey, stop crying. Explain to me what's happening with you."

Sniffle after sniffle. Tear after tear. Soon, tiny hiccups came. His hand found its way to her cheek and his thumb wipes away the tears.

"Whatever secret you're hiding, you don't have to keep it from me. I will not laugh or anything. I'll still accept you wholeheartedly no matter what secret that may be."

"Remember when we were kids, we were always open and honest with one another. Y/n, don't be afraid. I'll be there with you, every step of the way, no matter what."

"Pinky swear?"

"Pinky swear."
