Down By The River, By The Woods

Chapter 5

Alex's P.O.V

Last night just after Jay had given me the amazing news that he'd broken it off with Ariana (Yes!!!) and calmed me down after that disastrous conversation with Chris, we'd gone to our favorite ice cream parlor just a few minutes away from our spot.

I had found our spot when I was around eight holding a chocolate chip ice cream running into the woods armed to demand answers from goblins,but all I'd seen down by the river, by the woods was our spot.

It was breathtakingly beautiful. There was a river that shone in a golden glow at dawn and dusk with a little bridge running across it. On the other side of the bridge there were a few boulders surrounded by lush grass.

This had become our spot. The place where we came for peace and quiet, where we shared our secrets, where I gave most of my concerts, well, to woodland animals and the twins.

All our memories flooded through my brain as we walked into the ice cream parlor. Jay ordered our trademark Monster sundae and held up two spoons as he made his way to the table I'd picked. The parlor was relatively empty,so I'd got my pick. Just as we were eating, the door jingled open and to my surprise, Ashton walked in.

I looked at him and he waved and smiled. Jay also looked up and smiled, flashing those dimples. Sigh... Ashton smirked at the sight, each of us holding up a spoon over a single cup of sundae...

Well it was a couple thing to do,but hey it was a TRADITION!

Ashton came up to our table and asked "Oh, hey.. I didn't know you were dating.. wow does Diana know? "

"What....erm..um..Jay.." I stammered and blushed. Jay to my surprise blushed too and said similar incomprehensible things. Finally I formed an actual sentence and said "We're not dating!"

Ashton quirked up an eyebrow and said "Really? Well you should be. "

I wish... he then gave us another mysterious smirk and went towards the counter.

It was a bit quiet after that till Jay asked "Andrew let's him call her Diana? "I laughed and said "Yeah.. you should see the way she is in front of him... "

We spent the ride back home laughing.

"Oh My God! These are gorgeous! You're finally going to transform! " I squealed at the sight of the 2 dresses Ryan made Andrew buy.

"Transform? " she asked quirking up an eyebrow.

"Yeah! From Andrew to Diana!" I said with a smirk.

There were two beautiful dresses. The first one that she held up was emerald green. The lacy skirt was gorgeous and ended a few inches above her knees. It had long lacy sleeves that ended at the wrists.

The second one she held up was a white one-shouldered dress with little white roses on the sleeve. It had a full skirt that went a little below the knees. As I admired these Andrew pointed at a bag and said "Look in there. That one, is for you."

I squealed and opened the bag and out fell an amazing black dress. It had black lacy sleeves that came up to the elbow, a cute bow at the middle and a tulle skirt that came to my knees.

"Oh My God! This is so amazing! Andrew you're the best friend ever, you know right?" I said with a gigantic smile.

"Yeah, yeah. I've had to bear with you for like 9 years. " she said with a smirk.

"Alrighty, Alex, "she continued " work your magic on me. I want to look good tonight. "

I stared at her in disbelief "You're letting me do your hair?You hate that stuff! "

"Yes Alexandra, now please pull on your dress as I do the same." she said with a sigh. I squealed again and pushed her into my bathroom. She gave me a not-so-scary glare.

"Squeal once more and I swear I'll go that party in this shirt."

I smiled and decided to stop. When Andrew made promises/ threats, she mostly kept them. And besides, that shirt was disgusting.

As she changed into one of those dresses I quickly changed into the one she'd got me. Wow she knew me too well. It looked really good.

"Wow, I was right after all, Marcus is so gonna lose this bet. You look way hot. "Andrew said as she walked out of the bathroom.

"What bet? "I asked.

"Umm.. nothing.. now, how do I look?"

I turned to see her wearing the white one and smiled.. "Aaah... you look absolutely angelic, you're just missing the halo and the wings. " I smiled.

"Now show me the other one."I demanded making Andrew sigh.

I started to brush out my wavy-curly hair and decided to tie it up into a high ponytail. Just as I tied it,Andrew stepped out of the bathroom.

I turned to face her and almost gasped. She had pulled on the emerald green dress which made her (dyed, may I add?) fiery red hair even more stunning, and brought out her hazel eyes. The dress actually made her eyes look more green and more like Jay's beautiful eyes.

"Oh My God! You look so amazing! " I gushed.

"Really? " she asked in disbelief.

"Yeah... now let's work on your hair, gorgeous. "I smiled.

We spent the next 15 minutes curling her very straight red hair. It had always surprised me that she had straight hair which she dyed red and Jay had those brown locks,they were twins after all.

I admired my work as I stood next to her in front of the mirror. I then handed her a pair of my heels.

"I'm so not wearing these. "she said.

"You want to look good for Ashton " I said in a sing-song voice.

"No I.. uh..don't "

"Yeah right, You let him call you Diana... and you're wearing a dress, and you let me do your hair,and you've got on more makeup than usual, and did I mention you let him call you Diana? "

"Weeeelllllll, Diana is my name you know.." she said, then sadly added, "Besides, the entire grade's gonna be there. He probably won't even notice me.

"Uh huh..well just admit you like him,you've never let anyone call you that before. "

"Ughh fine. I really want him to notice me. " she sighed.

I just smiled and said "Forget notice,he'll be ogling. "
