Down By The River, By The Woods

Chapter 3.

Diana's P.O.V.

"And he wore suspenders to our first date." Ryan was complaining to Alex.

"Who does that?" Alex gasped as I sat down opposite to the two of them.

"Who wore suspenders?" I asked, almost choking on the disgusting food.

"Trevor," Ryan said, cringing as if 'Trevor' was some sort of virus ," I cannot believe I even though he was moderately cute."

I rolled my eyes. Ryan dated three to four guys every month and spent all the time complaining about it. Not that I didn't love Ryan, he was one of the best best friends ever, but he could be annoying and when I say annoying I mean really annoying.

"Jay said he's taking Ariana somewhere so he'll be bunking the rest of the day." Marcus said, slipping in next to me "Cover for him if your mum asks."

I nodded and looked around the cafeteria. Ashton, the super cute new kid was walking over to his friends. Wait, he walked right past his friends table and it looked like he was walking to- our table?

Shit, Diana get yourself together. You do not like him. Okay, maybe you do, but he doesn't. He's only spoken to you twice.

" Hey guys!" Ashton smiled, slapping Marcus on the back "I was wondering if you guys would be able to make it to my place for a party day after. Yeah?" he looked around.

"Cool, we'll be there," Marcus replied for all of us. Ashton waved at us and looked at me said something about Jay. I nodded even though I had no idea what he was talking about.

"I'll see you at basketball practice today." he said to Marcus and walked off.

Ryan must have noticed how I was looking, because he grinned at me shook his head. At least he didn't say anything out loud.

"I'm taking you two shopping tomorrow after school because you have absolutely nothing to wear." Ryan pointed at Marcus and me and we both groaned. "Then maybe I'll pay for the food" he added and Marcus agreed to go. I decided to go because I wouldn't look very good turning up to the party of the year in a baggy hoodie and my jeans.

"Talk" Jay and I said together as we reached the spot.I loved this place. Alex had discovered it ages ago and we'd been hanging out at this place ever since. It was beautiful, the woods behind us, a river flowing on front of us and a small bridge leading to the other side of the river. It was quiet and secluded and I don't think anyone knew about it.For me it was our place.

"No way," Alex said, "why do you guys wanna know anyways?"

"Because," I said "we're your friends and I just happen to be a love guru!"

"A love guru who has never ever been on a single date?" Alex

mocked.

"Thanks for reminding me!" I snapped.

"Besides, what happened to you when Ashton came to our table today?" Alex smiled.

"What happened?" Jay asked.

" Not helping Jay!" I snapped, again " And stop trying to change the topic, Lexi."

"Guess," Alex said, walking towards the car. 

"Ram?" Jay asked.

"You're kidding right.. Nope."

"Dylan? Robby?Jack?Justin?"I shot thinking of all the people who looked altleast moderately cute.

"No,no no and no again "Alex grinned and said.

"Nathan." I said.

Jay looked at me and asked "who's that?"

"No. Time's up." Alex said, running towards the car singing Roar by Katy Perry.. her newest favourite.Shoot, I was going to have to sit in the back.

" You wanna hang out tomorrow?" Alex asked me,half way through the first paragraph.

"I exist too!" Jay said, earning a face-palm from Alex.

"Me, Ryan and Marcus are going to the mall." I sighed.

"Ryan, Marcus and I," Alex corrected, "And that sounds fun!"

"Everything besides the going to the mall part."

"Ooooh!!  I know! Can I come with?"she squealed.

I shuddered remembering previous shopping experiences with Alex.

"No way Alex.The last time you dragged me to a mall you made me change in and out of like a million things and finally settled on like the second one! "

She pouted and said "Hey! that's the point! You looked so hot in that dress! I was just making sure there wasn't anything else that made you look even better! "  saying so she smiled brightly and blindingly,may I add.

I made a face and said "Weeeeeelllll..... You're still not coming.I need to be alive by the end of the day ." And to see Ashton at his party.. I secretly added..

"Fine then.. I won't come " she said and then turned to jay.

"How did that date with Ariana go?" Alex teased, Jay blushed.

Alex and I didn't really like Ariana, and mocked her in front of Jay all  the time. I realized that Alex had succeeded in changing the topic and decides that I would talk to her about it later.
