Chapter 16

Alex's P.O.V

I'm a mess. I have bags underneath my eyes and I'm wearing a blue hoodie and worn jeans.

My makeup is as minimal as usual, but I don't see the glow on my face anymore.

I caught a ride to school with Liz. I had to explain everything to her. I hated doing that. I was reliving those experiences like that.I never wanted to think about that party and what Chris did ever again.

By the time I was done, there was steam coming out of her ears and her knuckles were white from how hard she gripped the steering wheel.

' I'm going to kill Chris! ' she huffed.

I just rolled my eyes.

When we reached school, everyone was staring at us. It was making me horribly uncomfortable. That's when Ashton glared at everyone and they all went back to doing their business.

I was so glad for a friends like him and Liz,and to think he came only a couple of months ago.

They weren't happy I'd avoided Jay and Diana this morning, but there was nothing they could do about it. They were still team Jaylex.

Soon enough the bell rang signifying the start if the first class of the day,English.

I was lucky enough, I only had one class with Jay and that was the one before lunch, Chemistry.

English got over all too soon.I truged along the hallway in the direction of my other classes. Soon enough it was Chemistry.

As much as I wanted to I couldn't skip the class. I walked into class only to remember that I had been assigned a seat next to Jay.

I mentally groaned and walked over to the seat. Jay came in soon enough and I almost heard my heart shatter into a million pieces.

Ariana was with him,literally clinging to his side.He also looked like he hadn't slept in weeks.I tried to avoid spilling the tears that threatened to fall out. Instead I concentrated on the teacher.

Jay and I avoided each other all through the class. You could almost taste the tension between us.

The bell rang signifying the end of the lesson and I bolted out of class the tears spilling out,only to be pulled back into warm arms.Jay.

What was he doing?

I looked up at him, and he simply wiped the tears away.I was about to thank him,when he was pulled away from me by a certain someone in pink glittery high heels. Ariana.

She smiled at him and then smashed her lips against his.

That was when I almost fell.I couldn't believe it. He moved on so fast.I knew it. It was a prank after all.I didn't know it was possible for my already broken heart to break even more. But no I continue to surprise myself every time.

I immediately turned away and ran out into the garden. I heard someone calling my name, but I was too wrapped up in running away to care.

My phone rang a million times and I heard Jay call me a couple of times more,but I ignored it. Lunch was almost over and my next period was free anyway.

Soon enough I was joined by Ashton and Liz.

'What are you guys doing here?' I asked them wiping away my tears.

Ashton just smiled and sat down, Liz winked and said 'Can't I annoy my girlfriend whenever I want to? '

I gave them a weak smile.
