Don't Apologize

Chapter 14 - Ground Cave (Part 2)

''Come on'' Dash Knight breathed out and stood up. Hyper Knight nodded and stood up after him. He continued walking and passed next to the god. He opened the sensor and moved it around, nothing. ''Why are we actually here?'' He asked finally. ''Because we followed it here to the tracks and we want to know what crashed the walls of Desert City'' Dash Knight explained, still, annoyance could be found in his tone. ''Oh, sorry, I forgot'' The Knight apologized and lowered his head slightly. Dash Knight gave him a pat on his shoulder and then smiled. Suddenly, the sensor beeped.

''Something is very big and very close to us'' Hyper Knight informed and turned around. The sensor was beeping louder every second. Before they could even react, something happened and they both passed out.

An hour later

The two of them woke up. Dash Knight looked around, but everything was in a wrong view. He was in a big cage that was hanging on the roof of the cave. There was no exit, it was just a round room and below was dark, nothing could be seen, probably abyss. Dash Knight tried to realize why he couldn't see anything in a good view. Then it hit him.  He raised his head and realized he was hanging in the cage upside-down, the cage didn't have the floor.

He frowned and looked around. ''Hyper Knight!'' He yelled. ''Don't yell I am behind you'' He responded and then Dash Knight turned around, he saw him hanging upside-down like him, only one leg tied. ''You okay?'' He asked and the Knight nodded and then swung the chain, hitting the walls of the cage. He groaned and then stopped. ''I have an idea how to get upside-up'' Hyper Knight informed and Dash Knight hummed in 'really'. Hyper Knight swung he chain and grabbed on the cage's wall.

He started to crawl up slowly and the chain he was hanging on was loose. He sighed and looked at Dash Knight. ''Now jump on the chain'' He instructed and Dash Knight did so. He held onto the rough chain and looked at Hyper Knight, ''DO YOU WANT ME TO STAY HERE HANGING?!''. Hyper Knight chuckled and shook his head. He jumped on the chain and then tried to cut it loose form his leg.

Minutes, hours or even days passed like it seemed to them and they didn't do anything, but get tired. They suddenly felt the hot air from below he abyss. Hyper Knight frowned and looked down. They saw something red, like a flame. ''Oh damn'' Dash Knight muttered and tried to get off the chain. He tensed his body and then made a force-field around him, breaking the chain and half of the cage. The same thing happened to Hyper Knight. He held tightly on the wall of the cage which was about to break soon. ''I am sure this was a brilliant idea Dash Knight!'' He yelled as the flame was getting closer. ''You've gotta jump down'' Dash Knight spoke and Hyper Knight looked at him. He nodded and sighed. He let go of the chain and fell in the flame. Dash Knight did the same.

It was intense hotness and was even damaging. He fell for really long time and then SPLASH! He was in water. He swam out and then saw the flame was gone. He looked around and saw Hyper Knight crawling to the surface. He swam to the surface and inhaled sharply. ''You fine?'' He asked and Hyper Knight nodded, breathing heavily. ''I think there is a passage under-water'' Hyper Knight stated, ''But as I studied it, we can last without breathing no more than 20 seconds''. Dash Knight nodded and then stepped in the water. ''I think that will be enough'' He spoke and Hyper Knight nodded. He slowly dived inside and looked for a passage. Hyper Knight gestured for him to follow and then moved slowly. There was a hole in the water. Hyper Knight passed through it and so did Dash Knight. They passed to another water, above was the light. Hyper Knight sped up and looked below to see Dash Knight tugging close. He shoved the sensors in his face and the god jerked away with a frown. He saw they have 5 seconds not to breathe, 4, 3, 2,1. They made it to the surface. It was the lake, the one they've been to before.

''Whoa, didn't know it's that deep'' Hyper Knight said as the water dripped off him. ''Yeah, me too'' Dash Knight agreed and looked at the cliff where they fell from. The only thing that was lighting the cave was a flame torch. Dash Knight started to climb up. Hyper Knight followed him and they soon got back on. It was really dark. ''Probably night time'' Hyper Knight noted and Dash Knight nodded in agreement. They started to walk forward. They saw the blueish light. They followed it and then got out of the ground cave. Hyper Knight panted and looked up at the moon. ''Good'' Dash Knight said and sighed, standing up. Hyper Knight mirrored his actions and then they started following the tracks back.

They suddenly heard a roaring sound. Them two turned around and saw a giant serpent. It was color of burnt sand, it had navy blue eyes and few horns around its pudgy head. It started crawling to the two. It was really fast. Dash Knight frowned and then jumped and did the air spin, landing on the snake's head. He formed a purple rope and attached it to the snake's horns. It roared angrily and slammed it's head against everything, but the got wasn't getting off. The snake raised it's all body and then it fell on the ground. ''Good job Dash'' Hyper Knight commented as the purple rope disappeared. ''Is it dead?'' He asked and Dash Knight shook his head. ''It will stay fainted till tomorrow noon, someone will probably take it for examining or someone will eat it'' He spoke and they continued walking back. It was fresh air and a cold breeze.

They made i to the crashed walls of the Desert City. They leaned on em and panted heavily. Hyper Knight chuckled and thought about the cave. ''Sometimes, we can bring more of company and explore the cave'' He said in a joking tone. ''Oh yeah?'' Dash Knight frowned and Hyper Knight patted his shoulder. ''Well, back to our homes now'' Dash Knight spoke and stood up. He smiled at Hyper Knight and then flew away. He landed on the entrance of the castle.

He opened the doors and was welcomed by a lit up hall. He roamed around and then saw Ultimate. ''Dash Knight, what took you so long?'' He asked and then walked to him. He examined his tired body and then smiled. ''Nothing much, we will talk later'' Dash Knight spoke and Ultimate pulled him in a hug. ''I am glad you are safe'' He spoke and pulled away. ''Go rest now'' He said and patted his shoulder. Dash Knight smiled and walked to his room.
