(SCHOOL, NEXT DAY)

I could tell, even from here, that everyone was watching me. Making sure I didn't freak out again.

If that's even the right verb.

I tried not to resent it too much. I didn't want that happening again. Ever.

"And how clean do you call this?!" Miss Dale yelled at Yuri and Monika. "I asked you to clean the shed, not play around for the whole afternoon!"

"Sorry, Miss." Monika said.

"Both if you, clean it during morning tea and lunch. Got it?! And if I don't see absolute tidiness by 3pm, I'll have you both in detention! Got it?!"

They both nodded. "Got it!"

"Good. Now get to class." She stalked off, leaving Alex and I to walked over to them.

"Jeez!" Alex said. "Missing both breaks- pretty bad."

Monika sighed angrily. "Tell me about it."

"It would've been best if we'd actually taken the time to clean it after Jack snapped out of it." Yuri said.

Alex snorted. "We had to take him home, Yuri!"

"Not straight away. He would've been fine. In fact, he was fine."

"On the off chance, though." I said.

Everyone fell silent.

"What do you remember?" Yuri asked.

I frowned. "It hurt. Like, everywhere. It felt like I was being tugged in every direction and messed with...like-"

The bell rang, interrupting him.

"What do we have?" Monika asked, rummaging through her bag.

"Uhh..." I shrugged.

"No clue." Alex put his arm around her.

"We have Science." Yuri said. "And we'll be in trouble if we're late!"

"Damnit!" Monika sighed. "Where the hell did Yuri go?!"

"Probably hanging around somewhere, avoiding the work." Alex grunted, climbing up the gumtree close to the shed. I flinched, for some reason. Maybe I was worried he'd fall and kill himself.

"That's not like her." I said, worriedly. "Do you think-"

"Well, what's your other explanation?"

I rolled my eyes. "I was about to say- do you think she's...not well? Like me?"

Monika frowned, leaning against the wall. "I...don't..well, there's no real reason for her to be like that-"

"And there was no reason for me to be like that." I told her.

"I don't hear any screams." Alex commented, largely unhelpful.

I shook my head. "Just get started, I'll-"

"No." She said, standing up straight. "I'll go."

"Monika-"

"Try to stop me." She replied, giving me a...kinda freaky look.

I backed down. "Okay, then. Just be careful."

She rolled her eyes and walked off.

(MONIKA POV)

15 minutes later, I'd literally checked everywhere. Every room, every spot, all around the library.

I opened the door to my last resort- the music storage room.

Yuri was bent over, in the dark. Despair tugged at my memory, begging for me to remember. I ignored it.

"Yuri? Are you okay?"

It was then I saw it. A pool of blood underneath her.

I gasped. "Yuri! Is that-your blood?!"

I spun around. Where were the lights?!

"My blood." Yuri rasped. She sounded...bad. "My..."

I faced Yuri again. "Give me a straight answer, or I'll-"

"You'll what?" Yuri inhaled. She really didn't sound well.

"Yuri...did you hurt yourself?"

She giggled. "Can't you see?" She giggled even more.

I was getting seriously worried. "Yu-"

She stood up slowly-painfully?

She turned to face me.

Covered in blood.

"You aren't special anymore...hahahaha!"
