A/N: Sorry for late update had sooo much work to do. Hope you enjoy this chapter and there's a few more to come! I'll most likely finish this at chapter 15 since I have things already planned out

I bite my lip slightly and twirl a small dagger in my hands, given to me by Dwalin. Said man is pacing back and forth in frustration, due to our prisoner still in an unconscious state. There's rope looping around the tree he's on, that holds his chest down and his legs are tied to the unearthed roots. His arms are tied up on a low branch and he wouldn't be able to get out, even if he tried. He's actually pretty short as well once we realized he has metal supports, tucked inside his boots under his feet. Still couple of inches taller than us but not that intimidating. He's definitely a human but a very short one. Now I wonder if the rest are like that as well.

The silence between Dwalin and I is heavy, most likely due to how long we've been waiting. The attack happened early this morning and it's already midday. I'm positive Dwalin blames me for this, but it's not like I could control how hard I threw the rock at the time. I was trying to stay alive damnit.

The horse neighs uncomfortably as the wind whistles darkly but my frown only grows. This is such a waste of time but he's the only lead we've got to finding Thorin. If it weren't for that reason, I sure as hell would've just left him here. Serves him right for trying to capture me this past decade. I toss the dagger up a bit and swiftly catch it seconds later. Dirt under my nails catches my attention and out of boredom, I take the blade and start cleaning it. Piercing my skin is nothing I'm worried about since I am somewhat skilled with small blades.

Something in my stomach stirs and just like that, it disappears as quickly as it came. They must be on the move again, I think to myself and divert my attention back to the innkeeper. He still hasn't shown any signs of regaining consciousness and if it weren't for the movement of his breathing, I would've assumed the worst.

With a small sigh, I slowly walk towards one of the trees directly across from both men. Dwalin doesn't even question as to why I'm so far and simply shakes his head. I blink in confusion at his sour reaction but go back to the task involving hygiene. The breeze sways my hair a bit and it causes some strands to fly in my line of view. I blankly stare at my dark locks slightly covered in grime, and remember how Thorin used to braid my hair. He was gentle every time and there was always this delightful gleam in his eyes. The shade of blue in his orbs is heavenly and I miss being able to get lost in them.

"Orcrist."

Dwalin's rough voice causes me to lose my composure and the knife slips from my hand. I hiss at the new cut under my nail and grunt while bending over to retrieve the weapon. His boots appear before me and I hesitantly glance up, my grip tightening around the weapons handle. His stone cold face remains and his build looks bigger, since he has his arms crossed. I open my mouth to reply but close it, not prepared to explain.

The continuation of silence makes his eyes narrow and he shuffles away, cursing under his breath. "Did ye steal it?"

My teeth grind in annoyance at his question, "Of course not." I stiffly say, eyes glaring hard at his back as he trudges toward our prisoner.

After a few seconds he sharply turns to face me, jaw tight and brows furrowed. With a small growl I place the dagger in the side of my boot and unsheathe Orcrist. The chilling sound it makes sends shivers down my spine and I hold it out for him to see. His gaze lingers on me for a few more moments and then it trails over to the Elven sword. He flinches at the intense glare and hesitantly touches the blade, treating it as if it were a ghost. I let go when he has a firm grip on it and lean back against the tree. His features seem to grow more angry like but no words need to be exchanged. The belief in his eyes is there and that's all I need.
