Crossing my arms, I fixed up on my old stare and said monotonously, " Do I need to tell you that you need to explain?"

He shook his head and paced around the symbol. Rubbing his nose, he kept muttering something under his breath, not even looking up.
"No, no, no... this should not be possible... Sarah...but...no...not Casey...she drew it..."

I couldn't take it any longer.
"HELLO! DO YOU EVEN REALISE THAT I'M LITERALLY BURSTING HERE WITH QUESTIONS WHILE YOU, MR. KNOW-IT-ALL, REFUSE TO EVEN EXPLAIN?"

"Relax Casey....I'm trying to figure it out. Relax."

" Figure it out? Please!" I heaved out in frustration, "First, you refer to me as the tenth psychic or something and now, after throwing me into this expanse of confusion, you're trying to figure it out."

I paused for a breath and continued, "Know what, I may be a psychic, but you are behaving like a psycho!"

He stopped pacing and looked at me, " How on Earth am I going to explain this?" he raised his hands, "FINE! What do you want to know, Miss Casey?

"Everything." I raised my brow obstinately.

Sighing, Zack walked over to the rock and slumped down. I was beginning to grow wary about him. Everything was too much.

" Okay...it's a bit long. You ready for it?"

I nodded in response and sat beside him.

"A psychic is a person who--"

"Cut it off...I know who a psychic is," I waved my hand, "I'm not a novice about this supernatural stuff, because...well...I've always felt inclined towards it. I've done a bit of research myself...but what I don't get is that, I don't have any amazing ability except connecting to the wind and I don't think that acts as any psychic power. Why are you calling me one then? What does that symbol mean and what do you mean by the tenth psychic?"

" You want me to explain. I'm doing it. Have some patience."

" Right. Please continue, sir."

Zack ignored it and began, " I had known Sarah for the past three and a half years and my friendship with Sarah introduced me to a whole new realm of creatures, known as the mystics, that I never knew about. A new dimension...there's so much that humans don't know and maybe, they're kept ignorant for a reason. What we know as humans is only a small portion of this vast world. There is a fine line separating our normal world and that of the mystics...somewhat like a synapse between two neurons. Therefore, this line of seperation is also referred to as the synapalate." He paused and gave a smile, " Do you know what a synapalate is known as, popularly?"

"What?"

" Black hole."

I shook my head in astonishment, " You've got to be kidding me. Black holes..which even engulf light..."

He simply shrugged and laughed,"It's a marvel...isn't it! It's a completely new outlook. Black holes act both as barriers and as bridges between the mortals and the mystics. In fact, we have these synapalates all around us, but they are so inconspicuous that we cannot see them...not even through the most powerful instruments. They can act as relevant portals, but for that, a perfect setting of space and time is required, somwhat like the calculative settings required to open a locker."

This was getting interesting.
I hugged my knees and motioned him to continue.

"Turns out that psychics are the only ones apart from drows, who can manipulate space and time to open the portals."
