MILES HOPPER WAS LOST. He was lost the moment he saw his petrified sister, he was lost when his green eyes landed on the bruises sprinkling her neck like flowers.

That night he had slept in her room. Watching as she slept, terrified for what laid beyond. He didn't quite understand, he didn't know why or how. He just knew something wasn't right, and the fact that he couldn't see it frightened him more.

Melody had barely slept that night. She kept awakening with brutal nightmares. Images of the clown and the raven haunting her to her bones. She awoke in cold sweats, tears flowing down her cheeks as Miles hugged in to her. Trying to calm her down, to ease her demons.

Except by morning, Melody had made an decision. She didn't quite understand what happened, and that terrified her. But she was good at hiding, and that's exactly what she was going to do. She was going to hide her fear, like she hid everything else.

That morning as Melody sat with her nails clicking against her glass of water, Miles Hopper had finally decided something as well. He wanted answers, he wanted answers as to what was going on.

"Melody," the boy spoke sharply. His tossled blonde hair falling onto his forehead. The redhead herself hadn't even acknowledged her brother. She had just kept clicking on her the condensended class. Miles had huffed out, he knew he shouldn't pressure her. She would talk when she was ready, but yet he wanted answers.

The boy sighed looking down at his coffee, seeing his tired reflection looking up back at him.

"I don't know what to say," if Miles was busy even breathing out loudly he would've missed the way her words slithered out.

"Just start from the beginning," the boy paused as the girl looked up at him. Exposing the violet bruises covering her neck. "With those," Miles spoke pointing a bony finger towards her neck.

Melody had flickered her eyes shut, images of the splashing water and red tuffs of hair floating in and out of her mind. The raven staring at her with beady black eyes, with the bright red balloon popping like popcorn loudly.

Melody sighed blinking open her eyes, wishing she could just forget it all. However, this was real life and you could never forget something as easily as you'd like to.
