Today was the day, the day I had been waiting for since the first time I had heard You Me At Six- my favourite band. My love for their music had started about a year or so ago after I heard their EP 'We know what it means to be alone' and I found their lyrics totally relatable. I didn't think they could get any better until I listened to their debut album 'Take off your colours'. Their music really helped me through the tough times and i couldn't wait for their show tonight. You see I've never been the most confident of girls and I spent most of my early teens believing I was a younger version of Susan Boyle. Thankfully this was proved untrue when I met my boyfriend, Jamie, a year and three months ago. He had been the new boy at school and I had been chosen to show him around, we had instantly clicked and a month later we were dating. We've been inseparable ever since and are contemplating getting a flat together after college- which finishes in five days. I couldn't wait to start a new life with Jamie, my first love, but recently he had been acting weird almost keeping me at arms length. I had asked my closest friend Olivia, who was practically my sister, if she had noticed his strange behaviour but she just passed it off as a phase. I was prepared to give him a break and concentrate on enjoying the gig tonight. As much as Jamie loved You Me At Six, he couldn't come with me and my friend Sarah tonight since it was his friends birthday and they were going out to celebrate.

I was only in my underwear when my phone bleeped; it was a text from Olivia it read:

Aww thanks babe for the text and my T-Shirt I love it! My birthday has been brilliant for once this year, enjoy Me You At Ten!!!! Love ya, Livs xxxx

I was so glad she was having a good birthday, I laughed wondering whether she'd ever get You Me At Six's name right. I replied:

Glad you liked it and that you're having a fab day! You mean You Me At Six haha xxxx

I laughed pulling a pair of tights on and pressing play on my CD player; I started singing along to Paramore's 'All we know is falling'. I had just finished putting on my favourite faded denim shorts when my phone bleeped again- "wow I'm popular tonight" I said aloud. The screen had lit up I grinned realising it was a message from Jamie since his picture came up on the screen, he was so beautiful- I was so lucky.

I opened the message, hoping it was one of his really gooey messages that told me how beautiful he thought I was and how much he loved me. I read the three words that he had sent:

Kate it's over.

My heart rushed to my feet and shattered as his message slowly turned what was meant to be the most perfect day into my worst day ever.
