We stayed like that for a while, just stood amongst the trees that surrounded the playground. My heart thudded in my chest as I realised that Kate was the one, this beautiful girl that I held in my arms would be mine forever. We watched as the sun slowly disappeared on the horizon, it light exploded into the clouds changing them to warm pinks, fiery oranges and calming lilacs. "It's beautiful," Kate sighed and turned to meet my eyes. "Yes, it is, but I could think of things more beautiful," I whispered, she had no idea how beautiful she was. "Hmm what could that be?" She wondered completely unaware that I had been talking about her. "You," I smiled and saw her eyes explore mine to see if I was telling her the truth, "Of course I was talking about you, when will you finally understand? You're the most beautiful girl I have ever seen, but the thing that amazes me is that you're just as beautiful on the inside, you're the nicest girl I have ever met too."

Despite her doubts she grinned up at me, "I'm glad you think that, being with you has helped me start to believe what you're saying might be true," she brought her hand up to cup my cheek, had no one told her this before? "All the time you were with Jamie, as much as the thought of him repulses me, he didn't ever tell you how beautiful and amazing you are?" I asked, I hated him but I still hoped he had made her feel special. "Not really, I suppose he did when we first met but he just said I was pretty never beautiful, well apart from..." She trailed off, apart from what? What was it she didn't want to tell me? "Apart from what darling?" I questioned. "Apart from during... during sex," She breathed and looked down at the pavement. So he only told her he thought she was beautiful when she was giving him what he wanted, ugh I can't believe he used her like that and she didn't even realise. "Hey baby don't be ashamed, it wasn't your fault you didn't realise," I said and lifted her chin so she was looking me in the eye. "It wasn't my fault that I didn't realise he was using me, no doubt cheating on me all the time? I was so stupid," she cried her voice breaking.

"No he played you well, he did the same to Olivia, he doesn't matter anymore Kate." I told her but I could still see the shame in her eyes, "Kate, I was stupid to, I forgave Maria the first time she cheated, please don't be ashamed love blinds us. But with you, I'm not blind call me cliched but I feel like my eyes have been opened for the first time, you're the one Kate," I declared a grin forming on her face as well as my own.

"I'll never leave you Daniel," she whispered and brought her lips so they were millimetres from my own, "Kiss m-" before she could finish the 'me' my lips were pressed against hers, my hand was lost in her soft chestnut hair whilst the other moved to the small of her back and pulled her closer to me, she moaned into my mouth which made me kiss her harder. We pulled away, our breathing had quickened. "We should go home, I don't want to sleep in the park again tonight," I laughed as I took her in her flushed cheeks, swolen lips and slightly mussed up hair, I liked how I affected her. "Yeah, good idea," she said her voice was deep and sexy.
