By one o’clock we were surrounded by the bustling streets of central London, “Where are we going exactly?” I asked Dan as he led me down a series of winding streets. “One of my favourite places to eat, hopefully you’ll love it,” he laughed at my lost expression, “Trust me, okay, we have a lot of things in common so I’m sure you’ll love this place just as much as I do.” I still wasnt sure, I really hoped it wasnt a fish restaurant, i hate fish, nevertheless I trusted him. “Okay, okay I trust you. This place better not be expensive mind, I only have a twenty on me since I didn’t come to you’re gig prepared for a nice day out in London.” I panicked, Dan looked into my eyes his gaze burning mine causing my cheeks to burn- he was so perfect. “Who said I was letting you pay for yourself?” Oh no he was not paying for me! “What? Dan you are not paying for my lunch, we only met last night! Its not fair.” Before he could reply my phone started buzzing in my pocket, Sarah’s picture filled up the screen. This would be interesting I thought whilst hitting the green button.

 “Hey, S…” I started before she launched into her attack, “Kate what the fuck was that about last night? You escaped getting grief off me for just upping and leaving last night because you had gone for ‘drinks with a friend’ and i didnt want to ruin your time- like the good friend I am, but seriously man I thought you’d been raped!” She screeched at full volume, I held my phone away from my ear. “Look Sarah I’m really sorry, honestly, and I want to apologise because I lied to you last night about why I ran out…” I gritted my teeth, oh yes she was about to get a lot worse! “You lied to me Kate? I thought you knew that I hate liars?” Great, now I felt guilt on top of my heartbreak. Sarah and Josh would get on well with each other I thought absently, they both hated liars, thats what Dan had told me anyways. “S, please don’t make this any harder than it already is for me, I didn’t want to lie to you, I guess I just couldn’t handle the truth myself. Sarah I’m sorry I didn’t tell you last night, I didn’t want to ruin the gig I suppose… But… Jamie dumped me yesterday…” this made her shut up, she was probably my closest friend after Olivia and I knew she would be devastated for me. “Ohmygoodness Kate, are you okay? What happened? Why did he do that?” She questioned with disbelief. Dan had remained quiet while I was talked to Sarah, letting me get this part of sorting my problems out over, he just held my hand to show his support whilst navigating the teeming London streets.

“There’s not an awful lot to say really, he just text me to say we were over. I was determined not to let him ruin seeing You Me At Six, I’d wanted to see them for so long, so I put on a brave face and went to the gig. Everything was fine until they played Always Attract- our song- I just couldn’t take it anymore.” I told her shooting Dan a look for laughing when I mentioned his band, “anyway when I was on my way to the toilets I bumped into Livs- who doesn’t even like You Me At Six- she was kissing Jamie.” I finished, Dan squeezed my had and he looked at me his eyes swimming with sympathy. “OMG babe, that’s awful I’m sorry for shouting at you, I cant believe he did cheated on you with Liv- Liv of all people should have known better- I thought he was one of the good guys.” I could tell by her voice she was gutted for me, she had liked Jamie. “Me  too, he was the best thing that ever happened to me,” I sighed.

 “I know he was sweetie, we’ll talk properly later, anyways where are you now?” I looked at Dan unknowing what to tell her. “Erm, I’m in London with…” I kept looking at him hoping he would tell me whether I should tell my You Me At Six obsessed friend who I was in London with. “Tell her whatever you want,” her replied simply. “With who Kate? Who was that? And don’t even think about lying to me again Mrs, I’ve had enough with the secrets!” She was so scary at times but I loved her all the same.“That’s Dan,” I replied trying not to give away too much innformation, “we met last night when he found me crying in the alleyway behind the academy.” “Dan who? What the hell do you think you’re doing befriending a random guy, he could have been a rapist.” I was about to reply when I realised Dan had stopped outside a small Mexican café, it smelled amazing even from here, I held up my hand gesturing for him to give me two minutes. “Take as long as you like,” he smiled, thanks I mouthed back.
