In the taxi on the way to Dan's friend James' house we all sat in silence, it wasn't an uncomfortable silence just a relaxing silence. Dan sat grinning foolishly like he was remembering a pleasant memory, I felt my own lips twitch into a similar smile as I remembered the way his eyes had trailed up my body with adoration and pure happiness when I had shown him my scars. He hadn't looked at me like a piece of meat like most men would if a girl stood in front of them in only her underwear, he made me feel respected and loved. It was Sarah who broke me away from my thoughts, "Looooooook its Josh! He looks so nice!" She half screamed causing even the taxi driver to jump. "Ermmm I'm pretty sure he always looks like that, I'd say it was one of his bad days if i'm being honest," Dan laughed. S, shot him the scariest death glare that even made me recoil, "Kate your boyfriend is the worlds biggest kill joy I've met I'm pretty sure he's the king of kill joys!!" Even though she addressed me she was starring intently at Dan. I just laughed at Sarah I sometimes wonder why I bother having a TV when I have Sarah who never fails to entertain me. "He was only joking S, he's a guy!" I nudged her as the taxi pulled up next to Josh who was stood outside a big house that's front door was wide open with people spilling out.

"Its nine thirty and this party already looks out of control, man," Dan said to Josh whilst helping me out the taxi, such a gentleman. "Yeah it's pretty crazy, might not stay long," he grinned and winked at Dan. "Joshy!!!" I shouted as if I'd never seen him in forever, he encompassed me in a big cuddly hug that you could only get off Josh. "Kate! How are you? Its been so long, this morning if I remember correctly," he joked as we let go of each other. "I know it's been too long," I feigned shock before bursting out into fits of laughter. "Let's go in," Dan said making his way toward the house, music blasted from the walls it was some pop song I had heard Olivia playing before. "So what's James like?" I asked feeling nervous again at the thought of meeting more of Dan's friend. "He's cool, I don't know him that well though, he's Josh's bud," Dan smiled obviously sensing my anxiety he slid his arm around my waist and lightly kissed my cheek, an action that made me feel instantly better. "James is great you'll like him, if you actually get to see him cause' theres so many people haha," Josh reassured. "Good," I smiled.

We made our way through the people in the hallway with great difficulty, I had to cling on to Dan's hand so I didn't lose him in the masses of people. When we got to the dining room there was a group of girls including Jem and Alexa, the others I didn't recognise though one for some reason looked familliar but I couldn't figure out why. "Sarah, come on there's someone I want you to meet," I grinned dragging her in the direction of the girls. "Kaaaateeee! It's youuu! Didn't know you were coming babe! Who's this?" She exclaimed looking overjoyed to see me. "Jemmy, I know it's me we decided to come last minute and this is Sarah my friend and she has a little thing with Joshy too but i'll let her explain that," I grinned and gave Jem a hug. "Hey Sarah, I've heard great things about you and Josh eh? That happened quick well welcome to the You Me At Six wags, I'm Jemma, Matt's girlfriend!" Jemma seemed enthusiastic and I could tell that Sarah, who could initally have her judgements about new people instantly liked her. "Hey it's great to meet you, I haven't had much time to hear about you Woody has been preoccupied with Dan recently," she laughed making me blush. "Hey, you girls look great," Alexa smiled after finishing her conversation with another girl, "Who's preoccupied with Dan?" "Yeah Kate what's happening with young Flint?" Jem asked raising a eyebrow, great I knew when I told them I would be interrogated and I didn't really fancy that right now not in a room of people I didn't know. "Erm Sarah look there's Josh, he's coming over," I said trying to avoid their questions. "Kate thats old news, what is going on with you and Daniel?" Jem asked impatiently, I knew she wouldn't let it go.

"Dan's my boyfriend," I blurted out which made all the girls turn to look at me. "What?" said the girl I had thought looked in some way familliar. "You guys aren't going to make me repeat it are you," I joked feeling slightly embarassed, I didn't like opening up in front of complete strangers. At that minute the girls looked apologetically at me, as if they knew something I didn't. "So let me get this straight, you're Daniel Flint's girlfriend? Why didn't I know about this?" The same girl questioned, she wasn't being nasty she was surprised but I couldn't see how this had any of this had anything to do with her. I just nodded knowing if I said something it would come across the wrong way instead Dan spoke rushing over to hug the unknown girl, "Amyyyy, sis, I missed you," he grinned, "I'd like you to meet Kate, my girlfriend," he said coming to wrap his arm around my waist. So this was Amy his sister, bad first meeting woulld be an understatment. "This is your girlfriend," she asked  bewildered. "Yes amazingly she is," Dan smiled obviously understanding something I didn't. "But she's so out of your league," Amy laughed, "Sorry Kate, I must come across really scary I'm just shocked sorry, I can't wait to get to know you," she smiled and gave me a hug, I could now tell she was genuinely nice. "Thanks for pointing that out sis and for scaring my girlfriend," Dan joked.

"Actually she didn't scare me, I was just worried I'd somehow offended her, Amy you're great I can't wait to get to know you either, you're coming over tomorrow right?" I asked returning her hug. "Yeah I am, will you be there?" "Yep" I nodded popping the 'p' before taking a sip of the drink Dan passed me, I felt the alcohol burn its way down my throat. "You've already moved in together, Dan you should be more careful" she told Dan, shocked yet again. "No we haven't she's just staying with me for a bit and the whole arrangement was made before we were together anyway, you don't need to protect me she's not Maria" he said I could tell he was becoming frustrated with all the questions, just like I was since to me there was nothing questionable about my relationship with Dan. I leaned into him to show my support, "Honestly Amy your brother is amazing I would never dream of hurting him, I've been through the same situation as him, I love him," I said whispering the last part, I felt like I had to prove myself to her- she clearly loved her brother. However it still didn't stop the whole group, except Josh and Sarah, to turn to look at me with their mouths open wide. Dan pulled me tighter into his side and whispered, "I love you too," before kissing my cheek and adding, "sorry she's protective, she just doesn't know you." At our exchange of affection Amy smiled, "I'm happy for you, i'm sorry for acting like an over protective sister, lets just forget this as our first meeting and count tomorrow instead," she apologised, "Go and dance, I have to leave soon anyways I have work tomorrow." Amy pulled us into a deep embrace before saying her goodbyes and leaving. "Lets just say she has trust issues like Sarah," Dan whispered so only I could hear. 

"Wow, that was intense, sorry for making you tell us," Jem apologised. "No its okay, in a way it was slightly better than a really awkward first meeting where nobody said anything," I shrugged, I liked Amy, Dan was right she reminded me of Sarah and her first reaction to Jamie had been simmilar to Amy's reation to me. "So you guys are in love?" asked Alexa who was grinning from ear to ear. "Yeah," Dan replied creating butterflies in the pit of my stomach. "Yay! I knew this would happen, you two are perfect for each oher," Lex screamed jumping up and down before giving us both a tight hug. Soon we were enveloped in a massive group hug, we were all laughing and happy, I felt content with my new friendships and I could tell they would last.

"How about that dance?" Dan asked once everyone had calmed down. "Sounds fantastic," I said unable to hide my huge cheesy grin. I took his hand and led him to the living room that was now a makeshift dance floor. Once we were on the dance floor Dan pulled me close so our bodies were flush against each other. We danced with each other for what seemed like hours before our attention was drawn to something other than the feeling of our bodies touching as we moved to the music. A piercing screech interupted us, "What the fuck do you think you're doing here?"
