The Truth of a Kiss (A Cayes fanfiction)

Chapter 6

~Carter's POV~

I soon felt Hayes' head land on my shoulder. I looked down at his face. His bottom lip stuck out a little as he slept. I smiled feeling a warmth inside my chest. A warmth I couldn't explain. A smile crept onto my face as I laid my head against his. I slowly put my arm around his shoulder starting to get comfortable. I let out a sigh. Hayes stirred a bit. I looked down at him. He remained asleep. I looked up at the ceiling fan watching it go round and round slowly. What was the feeling I had in my stomach just a few moments ago? I had never felt it before. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and started to Google warm feelings. All the results were about love. I shook my head as my cheeks started to turn hot. Maybe it was true maybe I did like Hayes. My thoughts became clouded. I locked my phone and closed my eyes.

"Uh Carter..." I heard Hayes say in his tired raspy voice

"Hm?" I asked tilting my head to see his face

He groaned and laid down with his head on my lap. I smiled at the fact he wasn't awake to hear my heart pounding. I slowly fell asleep. Still unsure of my feelings for Hayes.

I woke up in the morning and looked down at my lap to see a still sleeping Hayes. I slowly ran my hand through his soft silky dark hair. A smile was on his face this caused a smile to creep on my lips. I slowly leaned down and moved the hair on his forehead and planted a kiss on his forehead. I looked at his still sleeping face as the hair I moved made it's way back to his forehead. I threw my head back and looked at the ceiling. A few minutes past and I was lost in thought. I heard  Hayes say my name which brought me back to reality.

"Yeah?" I asked

"I was just making sure you weren't sleeping with your eyes open." He laughed, his laugh was so innocent, so pure

I gave a laugh and smiled at the younger boy "So how'd you sleep?" I asked him

"I slept good what about you?" he asked

"Fine" I say

"You could've went upstairs to your bed I wouldn't have minded" he said

"I know but you just looked so comfortable I didn't want to wake you up." I smile. I was telling the complete truth I didn't want to wake him up he looked so peaceful. Plus I was quite comfortable myself. I also had this other feeling that made me want to stay with him.

"I'm a heavy sleeper Carter I wouldn't have noticed." he says

"I'll remember that next time this happens." I say as Hayes sits up and stretches

I stood up and stretched my arms over my head. I rolled my neck around in circles holding it feeling a pain

"Does your neck hurt Carter?" he asked standing up looking up at my face with so much concern

"N-no Hayes I'm fine." I say not wanting to worry him

"Are you sure?" he asked

"Well it hurts a little." I said quiely

"Carter I'm sorry this wouldn't have happened if I didn't fall asleep on your lap."

"Hayes it's not your fault I promise." I say "It's just a little neck pain it's not my neck is bro-" I was cut off by Hayes' lips beign forced onto mine and in that moment all of my worries were gone. His lips were soft and engulfed me with warmth. I put my hand on his cheek as one of his hands tugged at my hair. I haven't felt such a passionate kiss. He pulled me back down onto the couch. I knelt over him. His hand was pressed against my chest. I put my forehead on his and pulled away.

"What was that for?" I asked

"I just wanted you to shut up." Hayes said with a smile

I gave a small laugh and pressed our lips together once more. The taste on his lips was sweet. It left me begging for more. I bit down on Hayes' lower lip as he slowly opened his mouth. I slowly entered his mouth. Our tounges wrestled for a while until I took control I explored Hayes' mouth. I pulled away slowly. I looked down at the younger boy and smiled.

"Hayes..." I said quietly putting my forehead on his "I don't think I'm confused anymore." I saw the boys eyes light up

"Really Carter?" he asked with excitement

I nodded "Yeah." I said laying down on Hayes 

"Good I'm glad." he said.

Our lips clashed in another passionate kiss. I pulled him closer as he played with my hair. The front door flew open and I jumped off Hayes and we sat down on my couch and went on our phones. As Nash and Cameron entered the room.

"What's going on?" Cameron asked taking a seat on the couch

Nash looked at Hayes "Whoa hey are you blushing?" He asked

Hayes' eyes went wide "N-no!" he said

"What's really going on between you two?" Cam asked

"Nothing..." Hayes said looking down

"Mhm right...."  Nash said folding his arms

"You really want to know what's going on between Hayes and I?" I asked standing up "The truth is Hayes and I have started dating" I said

Cameron and Nash eyes went wide. I looked at Hayes' face he was as just as surprised as Nash and Cam, but his face was red.

"A-are you serious?" Nash asked 

I looked at Hayes "Yes, I'm very serious..." I said quietly kissing his cheek gently

"Wow, I'm surprised..." Nash says

"Me too." Cameron said

I put my arm around Hayes "don't worry we are just as surprised as you two are." I say "but anyways what are you two doing here?" I asked

"Well we wanted to actually hangout today with all the guys." Nash said

"Sounds good to me" hayes says

I nodded "I'm down."

"Well let's get going." Cam says walking out the door followed by Nash

Hayes and I walked out the door and got into my car drove away. He looked out the window.

"Hayes is something wrong?" I asked

He looked at me "No I'm just thinking." He says with a smile

"Oh okay good." I smiled

'Hey carter?" he asked

"Yeah what's up?" I asked

"Did you mean what you said back there about us dating?"

"Well yeah I mean if you want too." I say

He just smiled and put his hand in mine "I'm glad you meant it." He said

"Yeah me too." I say. He laid his head on my shoulder releasing my hand. I put my arm around him. He sighed happily and all I could do was smile. For the first time in a very long time. I was happy.
