The Truth of a Kiss (A Cayes fanfiction)

Chapter 23

~Carter's POV~

Hayes... Hayes broke up with me. I didn't think that he'd find out about Maggie. I really screwed up this time. Hayes wasn't just my boyfriend. He was the one person I could  trust more than anyone else and I may have just lost the trust. He won't text me back or call me. That's when I realized I'm lying in bed with Maggie at an apartment that I was going to move into and invite Hayes to stay with me when he graduates from school. I just lost all my plans for the future. Maggie probably thinks that her future is with me and I would be lying if I said I didn't like her. I like her a lot. She's just not just something that I can let go of just like that, no it's harder than that, but Hayes is so much more important to me than she is.

I sigh loudly and Maggie starts to move around in the bed about to wake up. I throw my phone across the bed it landing by my feet.

"Good morning Carter.." she said in that voice of hers, she sounds like a little kid and I don't know why, but I like it.

"Morning babe" I said kissing her forehead.

She blushed pretty dark. See I've never called her babe, because she knows that I'm together with Hayes, well was together with Hayes...

"Did you just call me babe?" She asked

I nodded "Yeah I did." I said

"Did you and Hayes finally break up?" she asked

"Uh yeah, I think so. I hurt him pretty bad." I said, the sadness finally kicking in to my system. I said I would never hurt him and I did "Why do you soind so happy?" I asked

"Really Carter?" She asked sassily "That kid practically stole you from me. Me and you were flirting for months and then all of a sudden we're making out one night at your house and you told me that you're dating your bestfriend Hayes and I would have to either wait for you or keep us a secret." She said "but now that he's gone you're all mine." She said with a cute giggle and she cuddled into my chest.

This statement should've pissed me off, but I couldn't see past that giggle. God damn that's the giggle that made me fall for her in the first place. God she's amazing.

Just then I got a text I looked down to see who it was from. I could barely read the name 'Hayes' and I thought... who's Hayes?

~Hayes' POV~

I texted Carter on accident. I was trying to to text Cameron but I clicked on the wrong person.

'Are you and Nash picking me up?'

'Sorry Wrong Person'

So I ended up texting Carter twice when he was the last person I wanted to see or talk to. Now he probably knows that I'm on my way to LA to stay with Nash and Cam... great

'Are you  and Nash coming to pick me up?' I texted Cameron when I got off the plane.

'No, just ride with Taylor he should've been on the same plane as you' ~ Cam

So I obviously texted Taylor 'Are you in LA?'

'Yeah I'm supposed to take you to your brothers' ~Taylor

'Yeah, where you at?'

'Meet me by the Starbucks in the airport'I looked around for the Starbucks and saw that I was already by it. Thank god for not paying attention while walking. 'I'm already here'

'How the hell do I not see you?' ~Taylor

Of course I look up and see Taylor on his phone "Taylor you idiot I'm right here." I called out

He looked in my direction and smiled walking over to me. "Sorry i'm dumb" he said jokingly with a laugh "Let's get out of here." He said turning and walking towards the exit of the airport.

"I'm shocked there's not fans here mobbing us." I said walking behind him with my bag

"Me too, most of the time I don't tell them where I'm going but they still find me." he said looking down at me.

Looking into his eyes, I can tell his broken heart has been mended a little, he's not as broken as he was the other day, but how? Maybe he was just good with break ups or maybe someone was helping him through it.

"I don't know they're crazy." I said and he nodded as he put our bags in the back seat of his car and got in the drivers side to drive to Nash and Cam's apartment.

On the way there Taylor listened to the radio and I looked out  the window, god I love LA so much.

Maybe one day I can move here as well. I know for a fact I will it's just so pretty and pretty much all of my friends are here and if they don't live here they come here all the time.

Once we pulled up to the apartment, I got my bag out of the back of the car and I walked to the apartment building, after thanking Taylor for the ride of course. I beeped for Nash and Cameron's apartment

"Who is it?" Nash's voice came out of the small speaker

"Hayes.." I said back and soon the door opened and I was aloud to go up to the room. I grabbed my bag and headed up. I just walked into their apartment since they never lock the door except for when there's not anyone home.

I was greeted by Cam's dog Jaxx followed by Bryant, our photograper.

"Where's Cam?" I asked

"Oh, he's on his way to the hospital." Nash said

"Uh why?" I asked

"He smashed his finger in the door, but I've gotta go on set see ya Hayes." Nash said walking out of the apartment. I walked upstairs to Nash's room and put my stuff down and I laid on his bed and fell asleep.
