Scott was late for class. But part of it was because he was terrified to even walk through the doors, mostly it was waiting for Avi at the coffee shop though. This is where it all happened, it didn't bring back good memories. Ever since Avi told the cops, his teacher was fired and they brought in someone new. This would be their first day teaching.
Scott walked in and looked down when everyone in the massive room looked at him. "You're late." The new teacher spoke, pointing out the obvious. "S-sorry, sir. It won't happen again." Scott sat before he took a seat, dropping everything in his bag all over the floor only to earn a few laughs. "Hey, this isn't high school, grow up." The professor demanded before he continued, meanwhile Scott was shoving books back in his bag.
After taking as many notes as he could, Scott went to the front to talk to the teacher. "M-Mr. Cortez?" He said softly, earning his attention. "You're the one that walked in late, yes?" He asked when he looked up. Scott nodded, "I didn't see the time. I-it won't happen again, I promise." He said timidly. Mr. Cortez nodded, "I saw you, hesitate at the door." He said as he walked around his desk. Scott bit his lip, "The last professor attacked me in here. This room doesn't exactly bring back good memories." He said softly. Mr. Cortez nodded, "Have you talked to anyone about it?" He asked kindly. Scott nodded, "M-my roommate knows." He assured. Mr. Cortez nodded, "Good. And if you ever need to talk still, my door is always open for you or anyone else." He assured. "Thank you." Scott nodded. "Try to get here on time." Mr. Cortez nodded before Scott left to his next class.
