A few days later, the two went to a coffee shop together and sat in one of the booths. Scott smiled as Mitch went to get them drinks. He offered to, but Mitch insisted he did because he was the one that asked Scott on the date. Scott didn't mind, he couldn't complain about how well Mitch was treating for his first time on a date since the rape.
Mitch was proud of Scott, although he still had nightmares and panic attacks, Mitch always treated Scott normally. News got around though, some people stood by Scott, especially some of Mitch's friends (Kirstie, Kevin, and Nicole) others didn't believe him (like Avi and his friends Alex and Jake). They told Scott he was just dramatic and even though he "wanted" to have sex with his teacher, he was "too scared to finish". Mitch was furious with Avi, and he and the others all protected Scott when they knew he needed the help.
Scott and Mitch sat on a blanket under a tree on campus, Mitch had made them a small picnic in the hopes of talking Scott into being outside more. He's been shyer than normal and started having nightmares and panic attacks more often. Mitch was worried about him. He wanted to ask Scott about it, but he didn't want to push. So, he just let his blonde roommate know he was there if he ever wanted to talk, and treated Scott like normal.
